How to make a mask out of plain paper?
To make an inexpensive mask, buy colored paper for children's creativity, glue, felt-tip pens and two ropes. You will need paper or cardboard in four colors - orange, light orange, red and black. First cut the fox face out of black paper. Then cut another silhouette about one centimeter smaller from the orange sheet. Next, cut out the silhouette of the nose and eyes from light orange paper. Also make two small triangles for the ears. Make a small triangular nose and mustache out of black cardboard. Cut beautiful thick eyebrows from a red sheet. Glue all the parts together. Tie the ropes on the sides of the fox mask. The mask is ready!
What will be required to create a fox mask from felt?
You will need the following materials: a hard felt with a thickness of two to three millimeters (orange, black and white), threads, a needle and an elastic band. First, draw a fox face pattern on paper. Cut it and attach it to an orange felt. Circle the template with chalk and cut the face of the fox from felt already. In the same way, make felt cheeks of white color, a nose and white triangles that you sew to your ears. Sew cheeks, nose and white triangles to the face. The chanterelle is almost ready! If it seems to you that the mask was not tight enough, then you can sew another layer of felt or cardboard to the wrong side. In this case, your product will not wrinkle much. Incredibly beautiful are the fox masks made of fur. To create such a product, you first need to cut the base in the form of a muzzle from thick and durable cardboard. The muzzle can be made voluminous by cutting out additional parts and gluing them together. It is better to connect the parts of the cardboard not just with adhesive tape, but with pieces of paper soaked in PVA glue. After the base is ready, immediately sew the ropes to it for fastening on the head. Then take the fur of red, white and black. Stick it as shown in the photo. Note that the direction of the fur fibers should go from the nose to the ears.
What else can you make a fox mask from?
You can make it not only from cardboard, fur or felt. If you want a fox mask on your head to be strong and durable, then it can be molded from polymer clay. But know that this material will need to be baked in the oven so that it becomes solid. You can try to make a mask of self-hardening clay, but then it will most likely become too fragile.
Also, fox masks work well using papier-mâché technique. To do this, you will need to buy a certain amount of art or children's plasticine and mold a model of the face out of it. Then grab a newspaper and tear it into small pieces. Soak these scraps in PVA glue and glue the plasticine face of the fox. Make in this way from three to ten layers. Remember, a large number of layers will make your fox mask more durable and durable.
After all the layers have dried, remove the clay from the mask. Now the product can be painted! Acrylic paints are best suited for this purpose.
