But the skilled craftsmen understand that today things are truly unique in fashion. That is, you need to pick up a ball of thread, knitting needles and spend a couple of evenings on knitting. But how many loops to put on the hat so that it fits snugly to the head? After all, it happens that you follow the instructions, and the product turns out to be either too large or small, which is why you have to redo all the work. We will try in this article to figure out how to knit a hat on knitting needles in order to wear it with pleasure later.
How to take measurements?
In order to calculate the required number of loops to be dialed, you need to take three main measurements - the head circumference (measured slightly above the eyebrows), then measure from top to bottom along the most convex part and subtract a couple of centimeters from the result (this is done because the product is finished anyway a little stretched).

In any headdress there is a tulle and a bottom.
To understand how many loops to put on the hat, you need to calculate the links for the elastic. To do this is very simple, just tie a small piece of size ten by ten centimeters. Thanks to this simple action, it will be possible to find out the required number of loops and see how the pattern will lie on the selected yarn. You can immediately appreciate the correct selection of knitting needles. If the work turned out to be too elongated, then the finished hat will quickly lose its shape and will not work for a long time. In this case, it is necessary to take spokes with a smaller diameter.
Important information! Measuring the gum, you need to stretch it a little. In other cases, the sample is measured only in a free state. Such a safety net will help get rid of the possible dissolution of work subsequently.
Now, using the ruler, we need to determine how many loops per centimeter there will be in the prepared sample.
An approximate calculation will be as follows. If fifteen loops are connected in this piece 10 cm wide, then this is what you need to do: 15 p.: 10 cm = 1.5 loops in one centimeter. This action is useful when you need to calculate the required number of links based on the circumference of the head.
How many loops per cap to dial if head circumference is 54? Here you need to do exactly the same: 54 cm x 1.5 (in one centimeter) = 81 loop. That is, exactly so many loops will be needed in this particular case, given the density of knitting, the size of the needles and the thickness of the yarn.
So, we figure out how many loops to put on the hat. To knit the main pattern, you also need to count the loops. First, prepare a sample of the figure, calculating the required number of loops in the same way as for the elastic. From the number of loops that turned out when knitting the main pattern, it is necessary to subtract the number of all loops of elastic. The number of loops that turned out must be absolutely evenly distributed along the entire length of the elastic band so that you can make increases in the first row, knitting two loops from one through an equal amount.

Her bottom
You can untie the bottom of the headgear with a uniform and gradual decrease in the loops of the bottom of the cap either with wedges or moving in a spiral. If you choose this method, then all the links of the bottom of the cap should be divided into several equal particles. The reduction of the bottom by the number of loops in a row can be calculated similarly.
So that the wedges of the bottom of the cap are smooth, you should knit together the final loop of the wedge and the first loop of the next wedge. But if the wedges are twisted in a spiral, then you need to tie a couple of loops together where each wedge ends.

Approximate calculation of the necessary loops
Theoretical knowledge is good. And try to put them into practice.
For an example, we calculate how many loops to put on a hat if the head circumference is 48 cm. Subtract the product by 3 cm, we get 45 cm.
Now you need to tie a small 10x10 sample, getting 25 loops, that is, in one centimeter there will be 2.5 loops. We calculate: 45 cm x 2.5 loops in one cm = 112 loops.
If the rapport of the selected pattern does not fit into the specified number of loops, you can optionally reduce or increase the loops to the amount needed.
Now we need to determine the diameter of the bottom of the cap - 45: 3.14 = 14 cm (according to one of the options for determining the bottom, the circle should be divided precisely by 3.14). This is the radius. This result must be divided into two, it turns out 7 cm. The distance from one earlobe to the other through the crown is 37 cm. From the neck to the forehead, 35 cm is obtained. 37 cm is the largest value of all measurements, it must be divided into two, it turns out 18 5 cm; take away 7 cm of the bottom and it turns out 11.5 cm in the end - this will be the desired height of the cap.
Now count the loops in the finished sample. For seven centimeters (the radius of the bottom of the product), 17 rows are obtained. The total number of loops is divided by the number of rows: 112 loops: 17 rows = 6 loops - this is how much you need to reduce while working on the bottom of the product, or in each second row of 12 loops - who will choose how.
Now ten parts remain, now you can cut a long tail out of yarn and gently stretch it into the links. Now you can pull it off.
