Ancient and forever young Moscow is famous for its sights. Millions of tourists from all over the world come to our capital to see with their own eyes its ancient cathedrals and temples, museums that store priceless treasures, and look at the modern flourishing Moscow. Not all foreigners, as, indeed, many of our compatriots know that new structures are appearing in the city, which are destined to tell future generations about the history of our great country.
One of many such structures is the Temple of St. Sergius on Ryazanka. It attracts tourists with architecture created by the hands of modern architects. This amazingly beautiful complex consists of two temples - Sergius of Radonezh and Vvedensky. In addition, it is the House of the Clergy, which now operates the School of Ringer and Sunday School.
History
At the end of April 2000, the constituent assembly of the initiative group of believers decided to create a parish in honor of Sergius of Radonezh and ask the city authorities to allow the construction of a new church on Ryazanka. Great work was done, and as a result, at the intersection of Okskaya and Ryazan Avenue, the Moscow authorities allocated the necessary land, and Archbishop Arseny consecrated it. Fortunately, the project quickly got sponsors, who, in combination, also became builders - the TEN group of companies.
Temple construction
In 2003, work began on the construction of one of the two planned temples of the complex. The foundation was poured, in mid-November, a consecrated stone with a capsule was laid in the foundation of the future church, in which the names of all voluntary donors are stored.
In January 2005, the small church was crowned with a cross, and on December 3, the church of St. Sergius of Radonezh on Ryazanka was consecrated. However, work continued on its design.
The construction of the second temple
On April 22, 2006, an important event for thousands of parishioners took place - Patriarch Alexy II visited the Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh on Ryazanka (photo you see in our article), who blessed the construction of the second church, Vvedensky. At the end of November, the consecrated stone was laid in the foundation of the Vvedensky Cathedral, which was to become much larger than the first.
At the same time, the consecration of the House of Clergy took place. On December 10, the Sunday School hosted its first students. They became not only adults, but also their children. People came in families, and then brought their friends to classes. Over time, children organized training courses on needlework, playing musical instruments, and dancing. There was even his own puppet theater.
Sergiev church
The temple complex of the same name is an amazing miracle of modern Moscow. Recently built, it captures the imagination with grace, grace of architecture and Russian scope.
The St. Sergius Church miraculously takes us to the 16th century. It was at that time that similar small temples in the Byzantine style were erected.
In 2008, the temple of St. Sergius on Ryazanka was decorated with a magnificent statue of St. Sergius of Radonezh. Amazes with its magnificence and quiet grandeur of its interior decoration. The magnificent, huge, bright iconostasis is decorated with a scattering of images dedicated to the life of the saint. Here you can also see fragments telling about the miraculous affairs of the great Sergius. Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Very beautiful five-domed temple. It has a three-part apse, a narthex and a one-headed belfry-gallery, which is adjacent to the northern corner of the building. This is an excellent example of the stylization of forms of Russian church architecture of the 16th century. This is the main temple of the complex. It was built in three years (2006-2009).
Consecration
On December 4, 2009, the Vvedensky Church was consecrated by His Holiness Patriarch Kirill.
N. Yu. Khrustaleva - the chief architect of both churches, a member of the Moscow Union of Architects - was awarded a high award from the Moscow Patriarchate - the Sergius of Radonezh medal of the 1st degree.
For several years, the temple of the Introduction carried out finishing work from the outside and from the inside. In 2010, the entrance doors were decorated with coinage, and in May 2012, a large-scale painting of the walls of the church began. This work was done by artists from Viofania LLC, which specializes in creating church interiors.
The painting for the walls of the famous Assumption Cathedral, which is located in the Moscow Kremlin (XVIII century), became a model for masters. The plots and their location were preserved, but the features of the 16th century iconography were taken into account. The work used the best mural paintings of other temples.
In 2012, the Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh on Ryazanka with the blessing of Patriarch Kirill became part of the new stavropegic parish.
Youth work
The complex created a youth association. Its goal is to help young people who are just discovering Orthodoxy, looking for the necessary guidelines and true life values.
