How to use the level correctly:

  1. Set up a tripod. To do this, loosen the mounting screws on each leg of the tripod. Each support is extended to the required length. Expose the upper part of the tripod strictly to a horizontal position and tighten the screws on the legs. For precise adjustment, many devices are equipped with a smooth corrective fastening of each leg.
  2. Carry out the installation of the level. The leveling pipe is mounted on a tripod and fixed with screws. Next, prepare the level sensor. To do this, rotate the adjustment screws until the bubble levels are placed in the central position relative to the lines drawn on them. For convenience, tuning is carried out in turn "windows", setting the level of the next, taking into account the previous one.
  3. Focus adjustment of the optical-mechanical unit. It is carried out to align the telescope with the view of the operator. The device is pointed at a large and well-lit subject and continues to adjust until the thread net is displayed as clearly as possible. Then the same procedure is carried out with slats in less lit places.
  4. Measurement and recording of observations. After horizontal installation of equipment and its settings, rails are installed in front and behind the level. First, the device is pointed at the black marks of the rear rack and the values ​​for the rangefinder and middle strokes are recorded. Then they focus on the front rail and fix the average value relative to the red side.
