History
Let's dive into the history of the children's railway in Yaroslavl, a photo of which is also presented here.
It was first built in 1946 - the paths walked along the banks of the Volga River. The length was almost the same as in modern times - 5.5 km. At this distance, there were 3 stations - Rodina, Pobeda and Volga. The children's road was run by two steam locomotives and five wagons. But, unfortunately, it did not delight the guys for long - in 1958, the Gorky reservoir was flooded, as a result of which the Volga shores were eroded. Traffic on the children's road could not be restored.
A modern attraction opened in Yakovlevsky Bor 17. 04. 1970. Initially, there were three stops - Lugovaya, Pionerskaya and Zelenaya. On the route 2 diesel locomotives and 4 trailers ran.
In 2009, a serious reconstruction of the attraction was made. Today it consists of 3 stations and 2 platforms. Depot is located on the "Pioneer". A modern self-locking system has been introduced, a simulator has been installed to train drivers, a layout of the highway has been drawn up.
