The city of Mineralnye Vody is located in the south of the Stavropol Territory and is a convenient transportation hub. If you arrive in the city by train, it is quite easy to get to the Mineralnye Vody suburban bus station. You need to go a little south of the railway station to the Moscow Industrial Bank and near it turn to the west, on Gagarin Street. The bus station is located in house number 98. Minibuses number 2, 3, 6, 8, 14 go to it from different parts of the city. Grocery stores, a tire service, a public toilet, a drugstore and even a monument to the 1938 howitzer are located near the building. The airport is about 5 kilometers away, take a taxi for 10 minutes.
Buses from here go mainly to nearby cities, for example, Essentuki, Lermontov, Pyatigorsk, Zheleznovodsk. Bus number 108 goes to the civilian village west of the city. Flight number 119 goes to Kumagorsk. Flight 128 follows south to Goryachevodsk and makes a stop not far from the waterfall and the end point of Pyatigorsk trams. The second bus station is more modern, located in the southern part of the city near the Ruslan market on Sovetskaya Street, which is part of the E-117 highway. The hub is open from 5am to 11pm. Flights are organized to many cities. In the east, the farthest settlement you can get to is Derbent, and buses from Novorossiysk, Krasnodar and Kislovodsk run to it.
There is a bus to Sochi (from Kislovodsk) and flights to the Crimean peninsula, for example, to Simferopol (it is 18 hours away).
It takes 22 hours to get to Moscow, but buses are only offered passing from Yerevan. Therefore, the train ride is much more convenient. The most time will take a trip to St. Petersburg - a day and 7 hours.
International flights
From the Mineralnye Vody bus station you can buy tickets for international flights. At 11:55 a bus leaves for Sukhumi (21 hours on the way).
The southern directions are Tbilisi and Yerevan. Even a local flight with departure at 7 in the morning is organized to the capital of Georgia. Passing buses from Moscow, Petersburg, Stavropol go to Yerevan.
