It is impossible to imagine the modern world without airplanes. It seems that most recently humanity had the opportunity to use this type of transport, and it immediately became a favorite means of transportation, thanks to fast delivery and comfort. However, the coin has another side.
Immediately after the first flights, aircraft crashes began. And if accidents among other modes of transport make it possible to survive, then in airplanes it was practically impossible. After all, here is a height of several thousand meters, when falling, the upholstery of the aircraft lights up, and when it collides with the ground, an instant explosion occurs. The number of victims of the accident is enormous and almost always dies the entire composition of passengers.
The most tragic is the 1940th year. In just a few months, numerous crashes of military aircraft occurred, most of which were the fault of the drivers. People invented a flying ship, but could not cope with it. Televisions and radios were literally bursting with reports of new wrecks. Military action was gaining momentum in the vast expanses of the sky, and plane crashes were not a rarity. However, during the war years, tests began, and new military equipment was invented, aviation improved, fighter aircraft and air tanks appeared.
The reliability level of military aircraft was several steps higher than ensuring the safety of passengers on conventional aircraft. Often, unverified cars with budget equipment were sent on the road, on board of which there were ordinary people. Of course, the state allocated money to improve aviation standards, but almost all funds went to military models, while ordinary Boeings were a kind of danger on wheels.
When aircraft crashes occurred, or the aircraft did not reach its destination, all the blame was blamed on weather conditions, no one said that the planes were only at the stage of improvement and new developments, and flying with such flights was akin to a death sentence without quality testing of equipment.
Fortunately, the era of low-quality equipment has passed, ended with the war period, as statistics say. Since the 1950s, all sorts of standards and safety standards have risen. Several significant improvements were put in place, making flying safer.
But after several decades, a wave of disasters began again, various terrorist organizations undermined vehicles with several hundred passengers, so control over air travel became even tougher to protect customers, many airlines introduced additional measures.
Aircraft accident statistics show that over the past 20 years there has been a significant improvement in flight quality and passenger protection, the total number of accidents has decreased from 600 with a total number of victims of 15,000 to 200 with 6,000 thousand dead.
From the 1990s to the present, the aircraft has become one of the safest modes of transport, and many new flights testify to this, and aircraft crashes are very rare due to the high quality of equipment and the level of modern airlines.
