Everyone is obliged to receive a decent and high-quality service of health workers. Such a right is guaranteed to us by the Constitution. Compulsory health insurance is a special tool that can provide it. However, soon the old document may become invalid. Replacing this will help replace the compulsory medical insurance policy.
What is a compulsory medical insurance policy and what advantages does it have?
In principle, this document gives each person (adult, child, foreigner, stateless person) the right to receive the necessary free medical care. The list of services covered by such insurance is quite wide, however, each insurance company has its own list.
New compulsory medical insurance policies have a single model for everyone. Naturally, they have certain advantages:
- payment for medical services is made by an insurance company, so in case of emergency you do not have to worry about the availability of funds in your pocket;

How and where can I get (replace) the submitted document?
Obtaining and replacing an MHI policy is not a very difficult procedure. You just need to decide on the insurance company that will represent your interests. However, it should be said that those people who do not have citizenship or do not want to draw up a document of a new form may not be in a hurry, since the old card will be suitable until you have the opportunity to do so. The only thing to consider: you need to be in time before 2015.
Obtaining and replacing old CHI policies must be done by the employer, regardless of where you live. If you don’t like the IC with which your boss has a contract, then you can choose another. It should be noted that such insurance can be issued not only by force, but also voluntarily.
If you do not work, then you can get a policy at a medical organization that provides services for your area of residence. You can submit a written application yourself or via the Internet. After submitting such an application, you should receive a notice stating whether the policy is ready and where you can pick it up. Often this happens within 3 days. In which cases is a replacement policy mandatory?
As already mentioned, the card that is in your hands at this time will be valid until the receipt of a new form. So, if you have an old MHI policy, a replacement for a new one is mandatory if:
- you change your passport or other document proving your identity;
- there was a damage or loss of the old card;
- a citizen who does not have a job changes his permanent place of residence;
- You are about to change your last name.
It should be noted that the replacement must be made within 10 days. In principle, if you decide to find another job, you can leave the old insurance card if the organization is serviced by the insurance company with which you have an agreement. What documents are needed to replace the policy?
In order to get a new insurance card, you need to submit a small package of documents:
- birth certificate (for children under 14 years old), and it should be noted what citizenship a person has;
- passport (or parental identity card);
- insurance number of an individual personal account (if any).
It is advisable for foreigners to have a passport, SNILS (if this document is provided), a residence permit. It is advisable that the applicant has a residence registration. If the CHI policy is not replaced by you, then your representative must have with him an identity card, as well as a power of attorney certified by a notary, which gives him the right to act on your behalf.
Temporary evidence: what is it and what does it give?
When you receive a new document, you can easily receive free help from doctors. The fact is that you will be issued a temporary certificate that has the same powers as the policy itself. It is valid for 1 month. During this time, you should receive a permanent document. The certificate usually contains the following items:
- personal data of the insured person;
- name and details of the insurance company with which the contract is concluded;
- place and date of birth, gender of the insured person;
- data of a passport or other personal documents;
- date of issue of the certificate, as well as its number;
- all data of the insurer and signatures of both parties.
How to use a new medical insurance policy?
Replacing the MHI policy does not affect the quality and list of services provided. It is used in the same way as the old insurance card. You can safely present the policy in those medical institutions that work with your insurance company. In this case, you do not incur any additional financial costs (unless, of course, you need procedures or medicines that are not included in the list approved in the policy).
As for the time frame for the examination and possible hospitalization, this time can vary between 1-4 weeks. For emergency hospitalization, this document has very mixed advantages. You just need to remember to take it with you.
