History

Puppet Theater on Bauman

The Puppet Theater at Baumanskaya opened its doors in 1929. The basis of its director and playwright Victor Schwemberger. The first troupe consisted of three actors: his wife N. Sazonova and friends - S. Zadonin, I. Zaitsev.

The theater toured extensively. The troupe has increased. During the war, the theater performed in hospitals and at the forefront. A front-line brigade was formed, which perished in September 1941. In 1942, the director of the theater was temporarily Evgeny Sergeyevich Demmen. At that time, he led the troupe evacuated from the besieged Leningrad. Thus, Moscow puppeteers connected with the Leningrad Puppet Theater (existing in St. Petersburg to this day). Soon the troupe received its first premises.

In 1953, the theater was headed by actor and director Viktor Alekseevich Gromov. He brought up a galaxy of unique puppeteers.

In 1962, Boris Islyakovich Ablynin became the main director. It was he who synthesized the puppet and dramatic genres. In 1964, an acting studio was opened at the theater. The repertoire of that time included performances on the best works of children's literature.

In 1965, the troupe moved to a new building, in which it "lives" to this day.

In 1980, the theater received the Order of the Badge of Honor.

In the 80s of the 20th century, the troupe was headed by director and teacher Sergei Alexandrovich Mironov. In 1986, he was replaced by Leonid Abramovich Chait. At that time, the repertoire was replenished with unique performances. Musical productions appeared. Artists began to actively tour across Russia and abroad.

In 1991, the artistic director of the theater was Vyacheslav Sergeyevich Kryuchkov.

In 2014, he headed the troupe B.M. Kirkin. Previously, he was director of the GAZTK them. S.V. Obraztsova. Now the theater has three stages: large, small and children's.
