Moscow theater Et Cetera is very young. At the same time, the troupe here was wonderful. In his repertoire there are a lot of performances staged based on the plays of modern playwrights.
About the theater
The Kalyagin Theater Et Cetera has existed since 1990. His troupe was a course of talented graduates of the Moscow Art Theater School-Studio, the teacher of which was A. Kalyagin. They graduated and decided to work together. At first, their teacher did not take part in this, he didn’t have the idea to create his own theater. But then he began to help his former students solve some problems of an organizational nature. Then they asked for permission to use the name of A. Kalyagin on the poster. Then the famous actor and teacher decided to conduct several rehearsals. As a result, he became the artistic director and chief director of the formed troupe.
Theater Et Cetera first rented one room or another for lack of its own. And he got his building in 1996. It was located in the center of the capital. But this building was not very suitable for the theater. The hall was intended for conferences, and the stage was not at all suitable for performances. But there was no way to remake the room. Nevertheless, performances were staged in such terrible conditions. In 2002, the Moscow government adopted a decree on the construction of a new building. Now the troupe is "living" at the address: Frolov Lane, Building 2.
Today the Et Cetera theater attracts attention, it is bright, diverse, unusual, original, original, huge. The architecture of the building is a mixture of all styles. Such was the idea of A. Kalyagin. He also came up with a name for the theater. It reflects the simultaneous simplicity and complexity of his aspirations. They wanted to make the theater A. Kalyagin and his troupe alive, without hard ideas, developing, changing, not detaching from the past, but striving forward to the future. And so on, that is, Et Cetera. In a word, ellipsis.
