It was founded back in 1944 on the initiative of the actress of the Leningrad New Theater Julia Matveeva. The first show of the fairy tale "Princess and the Swineherd" took place on June 13 and was free for young viewers. The performance was a resounding success. Today, the Nizhny Tagil Puppet Theater works in different directions. Along with the main activity (staging children's puppet shows), artists hold numerous shows, concerts for children and adults, New Year's tales, audience conferences, thematic events, meetings with fans, creative exhibitions of artworks.
