Mytishchi Theater of Drama and Comedy "Fest"
Stage directors are trying to constantly expand the repertoire. The foundation of the theater "Fest"
Initially, the theater existed as a student propaganda club at the Forestry Technical University. But in 1988 the theater "Fest" (Mytishchi), by the will of fate, received the status of a professional. The troupe got its premises after the end of Sliver in the mid-90s. The abandoned place where the Rodina cinema was previously located became the home for young festivals then - ardent and confident in their pursuit of theatrical creative fate.
Each season, the theater now performs more than 20 performances in its city of Mytishchi. A well-known theater troupe is also outside the Moscow region. She goes on long tours throughout Russia, to the Baltic countries, Germany, Belarus, Israel and others.
The theater always receives tangible support from the administration of the Mytishchi municipal committee.
Spectators respond with warmth and joyful excitement about performances with the participation of their favorite artists. After all, even when the theater building burned down, people continued to watch their favorite plays from the stage of the city house of culture.
The city authorities tried as soon as possible to restore a convenient scene and dressing rooms necessary for artists. That is, "fire, water and copper pipes" are familiar to theater artists firsthand.

Without the artistic director of exceptional stamina and talent, Igor Shapovalov, such a wonderful theater would not have existed. It was he who put forward the idea in 1984 to become a creative team and to independently stage works of high literary style on the stage.
After graduating from the Forestry Engineering University, all 14 people in his student team entered the acting department in 1990 for the same course - to an experienced director and teacher Semyon Barkan.
And in the 95th the already assembled single, professionally prepared theater troupe was released. And under the guidance of their loyal and strong-minded curator - Igor Shapovalov, they began their hard creative career and even got a building that the municipal authorities restored and prepared for the needs of theatrical art. This happened immediately after one of the performances was attended by the head of the Mytishchi district - Anatoly Astrakhov.
When celebrated the 25th anniversary of the famous Moscow Region “Fest” (theater, Mytishchi), its poster contained all the performances that were significant for the team, starting with the best debut ones. The best theatrical productions, so beloved by the audience, are Under the Sky of Paris, which is one of the troupe's oldest repertoire, Thought, a production based on the play by M. Bulgakov.
In 2015, the premiere of the play "Among the guests in one shirt" by D. Harms was held. This work is also a matter of pride for the team. Indeed, many modern theatergoers strive to have at least one performance in their repertoire based on this unique author. Not only the artistic director himself, but in general the whole troupe is very fond of both modern drama and classical. Permanent troupe
Now the theater has 28 actors. The basis of the troupe was formed by the very 14 desperate graduates of the Forestry Institute, who managed to stay together, despite all the difficulties of the journey. All these people like to go on stage and delight the viewer with their game.
There are also young creative people in the troupe. Young actors are the future of the institution, since the Fest Theater is completely not going to reduce the momentum of its forward movement toward development. Most likely, in the future he will only gain experience and find new talented performers.
About 30 productions are an initiative of young talents. The young actor Philip Efimov received a scholarship from the city authorities for the new youth project “SashBASH. Eternal post ”based on a poem by the poet Alexander Nikolayevich Bashlachev. F. Efimov received a nominal scholarship from the head of the Mytishchi district. The second young scholarship holder was Dmitry Skotnikov for staging the wonderful play “Kiss of Power” based on the historical play of the American playwright James Goldman “The Lion in Winter”.
Executives
The director of the Theater "Fest" is still Igor Sokolov, who, by the way, paints in his free time and even puts them up in the Mytishchi art gallery. The artistic director of the troupe is the same Igor Shapovalov, behind whom there are many excellent productions. The head of the troupe is Dmitry Polyansky, and the theater artist is Irina Titorenko. And many other people are responsible for the coordinated work of the troupe and the brilliance of the plays.
Igor Shapovalov led his team through all these years and is almost as hot with creative ideas as it was more than 25 years ago.
He was born in Kazan in 1960. He was the head of the youth amateur theater at the Forestry Institute; it was he who paved the way for his team in the world of real professional theater. He directed such theatrical performances in his already-formed theater, such as: “It is difficult to be God” (based on the novel of the Strugatsky Brothers), “Forget Herostratus” (together with the teacher Semyon Barkan); in 2002 he directed the play “The Plague on Both Your Homes” (according to G. Gorin), and many other works of his are included in the repertoire of the Fest Theater (Mytishchi). In addition, he also plays roles in many of these productions, and the main roles, and is an honored artist of the Russian Federation.
Festival "Moscow Nights"
The festival in Mytishchi "Moscow Nights" was founded in 2003. It is international; over the years of its existence, it has managed to acquire the status of a forum for the best theater troupes in Russia and the near abroad.
In October 2016, the 5th festival was held, where the famous theater critics acted as a jury. Upon completion, troupes were awarded in the following categories:
- best actor of the first plan (second);
- best actress of the first plan (second);
- best director;
- the best performance of a small form;
- the best performance of a large form, etc.
For the Mytishchi Theater, this festival is of great importance. It was especially important for the troupe of the Fest Theater to receive the main prize in the nomination "The Best Small Form Performance".
Perhaps next time the festival with the romantic and significant name “Moscow Nights” will invite even more participants from different cities and different countries. Indeed, on the stage it is allowed to show performances not only in Russian, but also in other languages. For example, in 2016, a theater from Spain - Atalaya Teatro participated, and in 2007 - the L'Enfumeraie theater from France performed out of competition.
Guests at the theater
Mytishchi Theater always welcomes creative guests with pleasure. Many famous actors come to perform for the Mytishchi audience. The famous USSR singer Zhanna Bichevskaya once visited the townspeople.
And in 2017, February 28, the poet Vadim Zhuk will celebrate his anniversary with a creative performance. The poet has already released 5 poetry collections and, apparently, continues to develop his creative activity. Artists of the theater will play on the stage performances of the hero of the day. And also on the stage of the theater, spectators are happy to watch the funny comedy of Claude Magnier - “Oscar”. This wonderful comedy is known to all, and yet again and again I want to sincerely laugh at the heroes.
The leading actors of the Fest theater are: Igor Bondarenko and Tatyana Polyanskaya, as well as S. Khaprov, A. Barsukov, N. Osipova and others.
And in the play “Solntseliky” based on the play of the great Mikhail Bulgakov “The Cabal of the Holy”, the whole troupe is fully involved.
Another performance for the younger generation is the creation of the director-producer Ekaterina Korabelnik - “Marry late, die early”. The premiere took place in April 2015. The play is based on the work of Edward Radzinsky. This is a confession story of a chaotic woman who loves a man desperately and contradictory. The role of such a woman is played by artist Lyudmila Lobanova.
The man who decided to connect his fate with such a woman, has a hard way. Farit Khalyapov plays his role. And the role of a collective character depicting voices is played by Igor Kalagin. All three have the title of Honored Artists of the Moscow Region and have been in the troupe since 1989 after graduating from the Shchepkinsky Theater School Higher School.
Theater "Fest" (Mytishchi) presents itself as a center of leisure and culture, which equally pleases both children and adults.
Theater "Fest" for children
On New Year's Eve, the Fest Theater did not forget about entertainment for children. For little art connoisseurs and their parents, the fairy tale “School of Snowmen” (based on the story of A. The leading actor D. Polyansky, who is also one of the leaders, was awarded a personal award for setting up a project that gives joy to children.
