The musical theater "Helikon-Opera" is quite young. His repertoire includes operas and operettas. The founder of the theater is Dmitry Bertman.
History
In the 90s of the 20th century, Moscow celebrated the emergence of a new creative young team. The Helikon-Opera Theater was conceived by its creator as musical, which he has been all the years of its existence. The troupe was assembled from talented young artists. What does the name "Helikon" mean? There are several versions. Some believe that it came from a mountain in ancient Greece, where musicians and singers sacrificed themselves. Others - that the theater is named after a musical wind instrument.

The building along Bolshaya Nikitskaya Street, in which the theater is located, is the mansion in which Princess Nastasya Dashkova lived. Then its owner was Senator Fedor Ivanovich Glebov. Musical evenings always took place in this estate, performances were shown. At the end of the 19th century, the premises were transferred to the theater, where French and Italian troupes performed. At the beginning of the 20th century a chamber scene opened here. The building inherited by the troupe of Dmitry Bertman is historical. The opening of the Helikon Opera Theater took place on April 10, 1990. In 2007, the building was closed for large-scale reconstruction. Artists temporarily worked at another site. The performances on Bolshaya Nikitskaya resumed recently. The updated building meets all modern requirements.
"Helikon-Opera" is a theater whose troupe of 7 artists has grown into a team of more than five hundred people.
