Another option that allows you to open a doc file is WordPad. You can work with documents of this type only if you have Windows 7 installed.

There is another free equivalent of Microsoft Word 2003, 2007 and other versions, which is also designed for Windows. This program is called DocReader. All the functions that Microsoft Word supports are available in it. Many will have thoughts like: “Is this a free copy of Word? Now I’ll run to install it!” But do not rush into such a decision. The program is in English, and it often plays against it.
