I think many people know what carbon is, a film that is a composite material. It consists of carbon filaments interwoven with each other. The fabricated layers are fastened with epoxy resins. Such a fiber is extremely difficult to stretch, that is, a gap is virtually eliminated. There is a significant drawback of this material, it is fragile when compressed and there is the possibility of breakage. To avoid this, rubber threads were used as additives. Weaving the fiber is now done at the right angle. And so the carbon-film saw the light. This material has gained popularity and began to be widely used in various industries: equipment for riders is made, used in tuning and in the military industry.
Carbon film is quite dense, having a small weight. It is much lighter than metal and aluminum. For this reason, they began to use it for the manufacture of components for
racing cars. Thanks to it, the car loses weight, but strength remains. Carbon has a beautiful appearance. This, of course, is a big plus.
This material, unfortunately, is imperfect and is not a perfect structure. It fades in the sun and changes color. It will not be possible to repair damaged parts; it will be necessary to replace completely. And of course, the high price is a big minus of this material. Few will allow themselves to make full tuning out of it.
Carbon film is used in the decoration of machines for both exterior and interior surfaces. Everyone saw carbon hoods ?! As a rule, it is with this detail that car owners begin to transform their car. Next, replace the spoiler, mirrors, bumper. In internal tuning, white carbon is often used, the film looks elegant in the car's interior. They also make various inserts on the steering wheel, change the gear shift knob. Even masters use elements made of this material in their work.
The appearance of carbon fiber attracts people. But natural material is a rather expensive thing and not everyone is able to afford this pleasure. Therefore, there are simulations of this product. The carbon film is replaced by a PVC coating with a carbon pattern. They fit the necessary part with such material and heat it with directed warm air, sometimes an ordinary hair dryer is used for this.
Another option is also used - โaqua printingโ. It also creates the appearance of carbon fiber. In this case, the desired part is covered with a film of a special type under the pressure of water. This technology allows the manufacture of products of complex shapes. Carbon is also being replaced by airbrushing, although in this version the imitation of a drawing is a very difficult task.
At present, 3D carbon film is starting to gain popularity. She has rather high technical characteristics, as the material is 240 microns thick. Compared to other films for cars, this one has a long length - 1.55 m. This allows tuning large parts of the car without joints. It is elastic, stretches well when exposed to heat. It serves as a reliable protection for paintwork, protects against the formation of chips.
