Autumn is a great time for fishing for predatory fish. During this period, its activity increases sharply, and she is in a constant search for food. Perch is no exception. This striped predator, gathering for the winter, more often leaves the depths and actively hunts.
September and October are considered the most suitable months for hunting perch. Fishermen at this time rush to the ponds in the hope of satisfying their hunting excitement before a long winter. And the culinary properties of the striped predator at this time are simply excellent. Having eaten fat over the summer, it is much tastier than in spring.

With the first cooling, his behavior changes dramatically, however, catching a striped predator during this period will not be difficult even for a novice angler.

The thing is that a stationary bait will not be able to attract a humpback like a bait.

The most effective adaptations for autumn hunting for both the “sailor” and the humpback are:

In the autumn, fishing for perch is most often carried out not from the bottom, as in spring or summer, but from the surface of the water or in its thickness. It is also associated with seasonal patterns of predator behavior. During this period, he prefers to hunt in precisely such horizons. Therefore, the listed gear should have settings designed for the average depth of the fishing place.
Spinning equipment for perch
For spinning fishing on a small perch you will need:
- lightweight spinning rod (up to 22 g) up to 3.5 m long;
- inertialess reel with a spool size of 1000-1500;
- monofilament fishing line with a thickness of 0.25 mm or a braid with a cross section of 0.2 mm;
- fishing line for a leash with a thickness of 0.2 mm;
- carabiner for fastening the bait;
- bait in the form of a vibrator, turntable, jig head, vibrotail or small wobbler.
It is desirable that the rod blank has an elastic tip. This will make it possible to make a more accurate casting and increase the efficiency of cutting. The coil can also be used without a friction brake. For small instances it is not needed. A steel lead in a snap is also not needed - perch will not bite the line.
If you plan to catch a humpback, the tackle must be strengthened. The thickness of the fishing line should be increased by 0.1 mm, and it is better to take the reel with a friction clutch.
In order to properly assemble the tackle, you first need to fix the reel to the rod handle. For this, a reel seat is provided on it. If the design of the form does not provide for it, the coil can be fixed with tape or tape. The line is threaded through the access rings from the top of the rod and attached to the spool with a simple loop. Its length should be at least 100 m. Mormyshka for the most part is winter gear, but it is also successfully used at other times of the year. This is a small lead or tungsten figure resembling an insect in which a hook is soldered. Some mormyshka models are painted in bright colors that attract fish, which allows them to be used for fishing without bait. But in our case it is better to use the most ordinary lead pellet with a hook.
Catching perch on mormyshka in the fall involves the use of a fishing rod 3-4 m long. Since fishing is carried out from the shore, this size will be quite enough to successfully catch coastal thickets and snags.
Installation of summer mormyshka on a perch
The rod can be anything, albeit wooden. The only requirement for it is a tough top. A piece of aluminum wire 5-7 cm long is attached to it with tape or tape. Half a nipple tube of the same size is put on its end halfway, having previously drawn a fishing line through it. The nipple forms a kind of nod, which will signal a bite.
The fishing line will need no more than 3 m, as fishing will be carried out almost vertically. You can attach it to the tip of the rod in any convenient way. Mormyshka is mounted on a leash or even on the main fishing line - at the discretion of the fisherman. The method of tying it will not play a special role in the outcome of fishing.
Bait and the principle of fishing for mormyshka
As bait, you can use pieces of red rubber, the thread of the same color, but best of all, of course, bloodworms are the favorite food of perch. With such a bait, the catch is guaranteed.
The method of fishing for mormyshka is quite simple. Casting is done at a distance equal to the length of the rod. The fishing rod itself can be mounted on a holder or, with an active bite, be in the hands of a fisherman. To attract the attention of a predator, you can play with gear, pulling it with a small amplitude up and down.
