When working with the program "Photoshop" you often have to work with the image. It is used if you need to fix something in photographs, take only part of the picture for later use in another image, as well as for other purposes.
Before you cut, in Photoshop, open the desired photo. To do this, select the command File -> Open. In the window that opens, select the desired image.
Particular attention should be paid to the fact that in the "File Type" there is a huge list of supported formats. When you select a specific one (for example, gif), all options for this extension will be displayed. Therefore, if you know that the file must be in a folder of a certain type, but it is not there, then you have chosen the wrong extension.
How to cut an image in Photoshop
Suppose we have such pictures. We want the girl to stand on the seashore. We have to:
- create a file for a new image;
- put a photo of the girl and the sea on different layers of the file;
- cut out a girl’s picture in Photoshop, for this you need to select it;
- add credibility to the new image.
We will analyze everything in stages.
Processing photos in Photoshop starts with opening a new file. We create two layers: one is called “girl” and the second is “sea”. To give a name to the picture, you need to set the desired name in the opened window of parameters.
At the moment, three files are open in the program: a girl, the sea and a new one, just opened. Moreover, it is the latter that is active.
In it, on the “sea” layer, we have precisely this picture. To do this, you need:
- Make the window with this image active (click on it).
- Select a picture by choosing Select -> All and press Ctrl + A. A dotted frame appears around it.
- Copy the image with the combination Ctrl + C. Now we make the working window active by clicking on it and paste Ctrl + V. As a result, we get the same picture on the “sea” layer.
Now consider how to cut out a girl’s photo in Photoshop. This program has several image selection tools.
We will use two: Lasso and Quick Selection.
Left-click on the second tool, a selection window opens: "Quick Selection" and "Magic Wand".
We choose the second option. If you use this tool to click on any pixel in the layer, adjacent pixels of the same color are selected.
In the options panel, select the following values:
- in the "Tolerance" field, you can put values from 0 to 255. When set to 0, only one shade is highlighted. If you set 24, then the tools will select pixels in the range of 12 shades lighter and 12 shades darker than the color;
- check the box "Smoothing" so that the edges of the borders are smooth;
- select adjacent pixels;
- uncheck the "Sample of all layers".
Now we click the tool on the girl’s picture, she stands out.
The selected image will not have a perfect shape, we will refine it later. At this stage, only a circuit is needed.
Before you cut, in Photoshop delete all unnecessary. Select a command in the menu: "Selection" -> "Invert". Now the entire area around the girl will be highlighted. On the keyboard, press the Del key and get our cut out girl on the background of the sea.
