Airport Details
Dushanbe Airport was founded (photo is in the article) in 1924. It is located in the same area as the Press House and Safina. Over the years, the capital's airport has developed, improved. Now it looks quite luxurious. The complex was commissioned much later after construction. The first take-offs occurred in 1964.
Near the entrance to the room you can see the scoreboard, which contains all the data on the nearest flights. The hall has special information boards. They will be useful to any passenger who does not know how to check in and check in their luggage, go through inspection and be served in VIP lounges.
Dushanbe Airport covers a large territory. There are cafes, as well as a duty free zone. There are also offices of travel agencies, shops, kiosks, children's rooms, ATMs, telephones, information and so on. Free internet access is provided.
In 2014, thanks to the president, a new terminal was opened. This allowed a more rational reception and departure of passengers. It was erected at the expense of the French company, which invested 280 million somoni in the construction. The airport can serve about 500 passengers per hour. The total area of ββthe premises is 11 thousand square meters. m
Incidents
In 1942, one of the aircraft that flew from Dushanbe airport made an emergency landing. Onboard was a pilot, as well as six passengers. All survived, although only the fuselage was left of the ship. After staying on the spot a little less than two weeks, the pilot and three men went in search of housing. One of the passengers in the process fell into the gorge and died. There was a woman with two children on the plane. Finding refuge, none of the men remembered them. When the wreckage of the plane was discovered, what happened a few months later, only a woman was found alive - the children died of starvation. A criminal case was opened, and all the men (including the pilot) were sentenced to various sentences.
In 1993, a plane bound for Dushanbe airport crashed during take-off. At that time, there was a war in Tajikistan . The militants, under pressure on the crew, put 81 people into the ship, although the aircraft was designed for only 28. Due to the overload, the vehicle did not take off, but continued to drive. At high speed, the plane went beyond the strip, collided with a parapet of a canal, then a boulder. After 60 meters, the ship hit a concrete pillbox and fell into the river. Killed the entire crew and 77 passengers.
These incidents occurred before the onset of the 19th century. All disasters, except the two described, occurred due to the negligence of the crew. Now, Dushanbe Airport is inspiring confidence, since no such situations happen.
Reviews
Negative reviews are enough. Everyone says that they require open money. Often they pick up a passport and do not give it back. Workers seize items and products, even those that are not on the prohibited list. Unfortunately, Dushanbe Airport (reviews confirm this) is an institution where the service is low.
