In order to insert something somewhere (if we are talking about a text or graphics editor), you must either "Open" this "something" by clicking on the standard icon for this command with an eloquently open folder, or look for a button with the inscription, hinting at the possibility of solving the problem.
Insert a picture in Word
For example, if you are interested in how to insert a picture into Word, you need to go to the Insert tab and, by clicking on the thumbnail named Picture, select a picture on your disk in the window that opens and click the Insert button (which question is the answer).
The figure will appear at the location indicated by the cursor, but on a new line and in a new tab "Format". Here you can (from left to right) adjust the brightness and contrast, repaint, squeeze or even replace the picture, choose a framing style, change the geometric shape, set borders, add effects and crop to specified sizes, but the main thing is the group of functions in the "Arrange" section, where indicate the position of the drawing in the document and the nature of the flow around the text.
Pay attention to the small diagonal arrows in the lower right corner of the "Drawing Styles" and "Size" sections. By clicking on them, we will open the "Image Format" and "Size" windows with the corresponding settings.
Paste a picture in a paint drawing
With such a simple problem as inserting a picture into a drawing, "old Paint" can easily cope. Having opened the image (the "Open" command), simply paste the next image, selecting "Paste" in the upper left corner or "Paste from" (or Ctrl + V) if the image was copied to the clipboard.
The overlaid image can be transformed by holding the mouse with any of the six markers and left-clicking, but after clicking on the side (outside the image) the transformation will become unavailable. This circumstance must be taken into account if it is still planned to add pictures.
Insert picture into picture in Word
The task of overlaying images is easily implemented in almost every graphic editor, but, perhaps, rarely does anyone think about how to insert a picture into the drawing in the Word text editor, and this turns out to be possible (if necessary). To do this, select the background image and in the "Wrap around text" drop-down list on the "Format" tab, select the "Behind the text" method, which is used to add an inscription to the picture.
Then we click next to the picture to the left of it and use the space bar (or Tab) to “drive” the cursor into the image. Now it’s not difficult to guess how to insert a picture into a drawing. Just follow the familiar route: Insert> Picture> Insert - and the picture in the picture is right there. The overlaid drawing can be transformed and twisted, holding the green marker, and moved inside, playing on the Tab, space and Enter keys, but this is not very convenient. But if in the "Arrange" section open the "Position" window and select any option "With text wrap", the picture can be dragged with the mouse.
Paste a picture in Photoshop
After Word, such an operation as inserting a picture in Photoshop will seem like childish fun. If the editor is started (in the sense of open), in the "File" menu, click "Open" / Open (Ctrl + O), select the picture and repeat "Open".
The file selection window is opened by double-clicking on an empty field of the workspace (when no documents are open).
By the “Place” command in the “File” menu, the picture will go directly to the active window on a new layer, where you can immediately “accept” it by clicking on the checkmark in the toolbar at the top or transforming it beforehand.
If documents are open in two or more windows, you can simply drag and drop the pictures from one to another. The image will open in Photoshop if you select it (editor) from the list of programs using the "Open with" command in the file’s context menu, called by the right mouse button.
The image copied to the clipboard (right button> "Copy" or Ctrl + V) will open in Photoshop, if you click "Create" (OK) in the "File" menu, then go to "Edit" and click "Paste".
If in the Word editor such a harmless task, like inserting a picture into a drawing, results in a whole procedure, then in "Photoshop" this is solved by one "Place" command, which was already mentioned above.
You can upload the image and use the Open command again, and then drag the image from window to window.
It is convenient to download images from the Adobe Bridge add-on to the program by calling it with the Browse in Mini Bridge command from the File menu or Extensions from the Window menu. Here you can quickly cycle through folders with pictures and, choosing, just drag and drop into the "Photoshop" window, or select the familiar command "Place"> "In Photoshop" through the right mouse button.
