DrWeb Anti-virus is one of the most popular computer protection applications that offer comprehensive methods for combating malicious programs. However, in the course of work, the user periodically encounters situations when it is necessary to disable anti-virus protection. The most common of these are the following:
- Installation of any "cracks", "keygens", etc .;
- the opening of some portable programs that modify the registry;
- gaining access to some sites, for example, file hosting services, which are often blocked by antivirus protection.
Usually in such cases, a temporary shutdown helps, which is done by right-clicking on the antivirus program icon in the tray, and then selecting the "Exit" or "Exit" section. However, this method is not suitable for Dr Web users, since such an option is not provided in this program. What to do and how to disable Dr Web, if there is such a need?
It should be noted right away that the developers provided for the possibility of a temporary shutdown. Moreover, you can stop the work of the entire program, as well as its individual parts. The procedure is completed in a few seconds, since disabling Dr Web is very simple.
To do this, left-click on the shortcut for the antivirus program located at the bottom right of the desktop. Next, switch to the administrator’s operating mode in order to be able to control the program’s self-defense functions. Thus, the user will be able to disable the verification of the correct operation of the application, after which it will remain to manually stop all the "interfering" program components.
Before disabling Dr Web, the user should analyze their actions to be sure that disabling the system protection functions will not cause the virus to enter the computer. It should be remembered that not allowing a malicious program to run is much easier than fighting its consequences.
When using Dr Web, the user often encounters certain points of work that can be annoying. It's about blocking file sharing and pop-up messages.
To correct the situation with the first phenomenon, you can add a selected Internet resource to the Dr Web exclusion list, and then you will not have to stop the anti-virus program every time. To do this, by clicking on the tray icon, you need to click "Spider Gate" and select "Settings". In the window that opens, click "White List", after which a window will appear in which you just need to specify the address of the desired site by copying it from the corresponding browser line.
If Dr. Web distracts the antivirus with various notifications that pop up on top of all other windows, then you need to go to the program settings menu, where there is a special section “Important notifications”. There you can turn off the appearance of unimportant messages, such as start updates, completing the loading of new databases, starting a scan, etc.
Thus, knowing how to disable Dr Web and configure some key parameters for yourself, it will be much easier to enjoy the high level of protection of this anti-virus application.
