Eye Disease - Farsightedness and Myopia

A person’s eyes are a mirror of his soul and state of health, so you need to carefully take care of this important organ. To date, there are very few people who have one hundred percent vision. Hyperopia and myopia are the most common diseases.

Insufficiently trained eye muscles, as well as constant eye strain can lead to such diseases. Today, more and more people are working at a computer, thereby undergoing prolonged brain and visual stress. Poor lighting and poor hygiene also contribute to the development of eye diseases. According to statistics, one in four people in a developed country suffers from myopia.

Most of the reasons come from early childhood, when a child in primary school is asked a lot of homework related to writing and reading. For example, a first grader significantly spoils his eyesight in the few hours he spends on books and notebooks. But general education programs are becoming tougher every year, the state is committed to ensuring that children learn a lot, thereby loading students to the limit. But along with this behavior, for some reason, they do not focus on the health of babies. It is from here that diseases such as farsightedness and myopia arise. To protect your child from such a problem, prevention is needed to maintain good vision.

So, myopia is a disease in which a person perfectly sees objects close by but loses the clarity of the image when they are away. Farsightedness is a “vice versa” disease. Here people see objects in the distance better than near. Both that and other illness can develop for various reasons, but always requires competent treatment and constant prevention.

Farsightedness and myopia can be due to hereditary factors, in this case, the predisposition to the disease depends on the features in the structure of the eye and eye muscles. Also, the disease can occur as a result of a chronic infection, metabolic disorder or hypovitaminosis. A person may appear shortsighted because he sits at a computer for a long time. Also, work based on constant visual stress contributes to visual impairment. There are many reasons for the development, but they, in addition to the hereditary disposition, can be avoided with a competent attitude to your vision.

In some cases, there may be myopia and farsightedness at the same time, here, as in other options, special glasses or contact lenses prescribed by a doctor will help. With a constant loss of vision, urgent consultation of a specialist is required in order to avoid more serious moments, for example, blindness at all.

Farsightedness is less common than myopia. In this case, the reflected rays incident on the human eye do not focus on the retina. Signs that a person has farsightedness are as follows:

  • chronic eye fatigue is observed, in which a person complains of pain in the eyeballs and frontal part;
  • there is a feeling of heaviness and pain in the eyes during prolonged work with objects located close enough;
  • eyelids may turn red;
  • blinking and lacrimation become more frequent.

In addition to these factors, the disease sometimes manifests itself as frequent inflammatory eye diseases, such as barley. In all cases, you should consult a doctor, because only he can correct this situation.

Restoration of vision with myopia is quite possible with the help of a special course of treatment, which includes not only medications, but also acupuncture and physiotherapy. Laser treatment, scleroplastic, highly effective low-traumatic operations are possible.

A person who has farsightedness and myopia should wear glasses in most cases to prevent serious problems, including those associated with complete loss of vision.
