The Boeing 737-700 is one of the most prominent representatives of the Next Generation series and is part of a family of narrow-body airliners with two engines from the same American manufacturing company. It is designed to transport passengers on medium and short routes. Currently, this aircraft, along with its several modifications continues to be produced and is actively used by many world airlines.
Short story
The Boeing 737-700 passenger airliner is built on the basis of the 737-300 modification. Representatives of the manufacturer officially announced the beginning of its design in late 1993. The main reason for creating a new product was its desire for proper competition with its European counterpart - Airbus A319. The first buyer of the vessel was Southwest Airlines, which over the first few months of 1994 placed an order for 63 of its copies. The serial model was presented to the general public in December 1996, and two months later a test flight of the aircraft took place. After a series of successful tests, in November 1997, the aircraft received all relevant permits with certificates, which allowed it to be put into operation and to begin mass production. This model continues to be assembled in our time.
Technical equipment
The Boeing 737-700 is equipped with two dual-circuit turbofan power units with an electronic control system, the thrust of each of which is about 91.6 kN. Compared to the engines used on previous versions, they are more economical and less noise. In addition, the developers installed an oversized wing on the aircraft, which boasts the best aerodynamics. American designers also modified the tail. All this in combination has allowed to achieve good technical indicators. In particular, the cruising speed of the model is 925 km / h, while the operational ceiling is 12,500 meters. The flight range of the Boeing 737-700 depends on its workload and fuel supply. Ideally, it equals 5920 kilometers. The take-off weight of the vessel is 69.4 tons. For its normal operation, runways are required, the length of which is at least 2040 meters.
Model Boeing 737-700 is equipped with a set of digital avionics EFIS, which is supplied by Honeywell (USA). All necessary flight information to the pilots is displayed through six multifunctional liquid crystal monitors. In addition, it is allowed to install a collimator indicator on the windshield in the cockpit.

The Boeing 737-700 scheme in a two-class configuration is borrowed from modification 757 and provides for the possibility of simultaneously transporting 126 passengers. In this indicator, the liner is completely similar to its predecessor. The dimensions of the passenger compartment in length, width and height, respectively, are 24x3.53x2.13 meters. There are airlines that, due to the compact arrangement of seats, are trying to increase the capacity of their aircraft at the expense of comfort. In the case of this model, a maximum of 149 people can sit on board at a time, excluding crew members.

For this, the aircraft was equipped with additional fuel tanks and received an upgraded wing. Modification 737-700C provides for the possibility of simple conversion of a passenger liner into a cargo version. By the order of one of the Japanese companies in 2006, American designers created a variant of this aircraft with a longer flight range. The novelty received the name 737-700ER. When it was created, the developers borrowed many technical solutions that have proven themselves in the Boeing Business Jet. Based on the model, several versions of the aircraft were also designed for the needs of the air force.
