In Nizhny Novgorod on November 8, nineteen-year-old student Maria Glikina disappeared. Close girls immediately after the disappearance began the search, as the girl grew up in a prosperous family and had a trusting relationship with her parents - she always called if she was late. The body was discovered by volunteers almost two days after Maria’s disappearance.
Fatal meeting of classmates
Maria Glikina was a creative and modern girl, but at the same time quite homely. At the age of 19, she studied at a construction institute, was fond of drawing and photography, lived with her parents and always told them where and how much she would go. Masha’s mom trusted her daughter, she says that they had an agreement: the daughter always called and said that she was okay, even leaving for a short time. On Saturday, November 8, the missing woman went to meet with school friends in one of the city cafes. Masha behaved, as usual, left home at about 19.00, her parents no longer saw the girl.
Timeline
It was possible to establish that Maria Glikina really met with friends in one of the institutions on Strelka. After the end of the gatherings, the girl decided to go to a friend living on Timiryazev Street. Concerned that the guest was gone for a long time, the friend decided to call her. Masha answered the call, but she spoke strangely, maybe excited, she, without explaining anything, said that she most likely could not come, and hung up. This telephone conversation took place at the beginning of the eleventh hour, after which the girl did not answer the calls of friends and parents. Parents were shocked and frightened by the disappearance of her daughter, she could not accidentally “walk up” or forget to call. Almost immediately, they began to study her pages on social networks and question Maria’s friends.
Searches and a terrible find
Search for Maria Glikina began almost immediately. The missing father worked for a long time in the police and connected his former colleagues in this case. Numerous friends of the outgoing girl did not stand aside. People were questioned on the street, leaflets with photographs were pasted, they managed to track the signal of a mobile phone and several times combed the entire route of Masha’s alleged movement. But there were no results, and the hope of finding a girl alive melted every hour. Someone from the search team even turned to psychics, who said that Mary had long been dead, and her body was below the ground, possibly in the basement. An approximate place was called in which to search. Psychics were right: on the evening of November 10, volunteers, led by the girl’s father, found her. In the basement of an abandoned building on Studenoi Street, among the various rubbish, lay the numb body of a girl with obvious signs of violent death. According to some sources, the corpse was partially stripped, numerous hematomas were visible on the skin with the naked eye. After the discovery of the body, a criminal case was opened under the article “Murder”. The criminal who so cruelly took the life of Maria Glikin will be surely caught and punished.

This story received a great
public outcry due to the activity of the victims' volunteer friends. The deceased girl was so positive in all respects that the relatives and the investigation did not have a single clue as to who could deal with her in such a cruel way. Maria Glikina was buried on November 12, but the investigation and the search for the criminal continue to this day. During the operational-search activities, videos from a huge number of
outdoor surveillance cameras and auto-recorders were viewed. Various versions are being worked out, potential witnesses to the crime and suspects are being interrogated. I would like to believe that, nevertheless, the person who committed this terrible murder will be fully punished. Maria Glikina, a photo of which relatives and friends still cannot see without tears, was a very bright and talented person. The offender who took her life must be held accountable for his atrocity in all the severity of the law.
