When people think about self-defense, the image of a knife most often appears in the head for some reason. Meanwhile, for self-defense, a knife is far from the most suitable option. Judge for yourself - the potential damage from a knife is quite serious, but the stopping effect is just negligible, but for self-defense it plays a decisive role.
To better understand what we are talking about, let's try to move away from serious words and try to imagine a typical street situation. It turns out the following: the cuts from the knife will not stop the aggressively tuned drunk tip, but rather they will tease - he will begin to “build cool” or raise stones from the ground there, but the blow that stops him will send him into the world of peace and quiet, and you will be long fascinating journey through the northern "sanatoriums" at public expense. What to do than to calm his paranoid soul in the face of a threat?
And then a telescopic baton enters the stage . Theoretically, from the point of view of the effectiveness of self-defense and your safety from bloody disassembly - an ideal option. Potential damage compared to a knife is quite small, that is, it is realistic to beat with a baton to death, but you need to try it. Well, or just do not give a damn about safety precautions and break a super-blow between your eyes, which is very stupid. Why is it perfect? Yes, because the telescopic baton has excellent stopping power - which is why it is so appreciated by various riot police around the world. The fact is that the human body is full of nerve nodes located close to the surface. Hitting them or even near them can seriously impair mobility to any opponent. For example, a blow, even not very strong, on the knee will lead to the fact that the knee will be offended by the whole world and will stop working for a couple of minutes. The same blow to the fingers will deprive them of mobility - you can’t squeeze your fist anymore. And the best part is that such injuries perfectly pass by themselves, unlike stab wounds from a knife.

In order for the telescopic baton to become your faithful assistant, in which case, you need to observe only a few conditions:
- Avoid blows to the head - they almost always carry heavy bodily ones. The task of self-defense is to stop, not cripple.
- It’s about knowing how to strike backhand - just a little training is enough.
- Know where to hit in order to achieve maximum efficiency. There are plenty of points - mainly joints and nerve nodes (hand, elbows, knees, shoulders, fingers, the notorious nine). Hitting at any such point will significantly reduce the mobility of the adversary without a global risk to his health.
As you can see, a telescopic baton is a loyal assistant, but there is one “but” ... Remember the sentence: “Theoretically, telescopic batons are ideal?”.
The main word in this sentence is “theoretically”. The fact is that in Ukraine, Russia and Belarus, these devices are considered XO and are prohibited for free sale and wearing. And no one cares that, according to the classification, they are not particularly suitable for XO, and they are freely sold, and the vile consultants assure you that this is not a weapon - if you answer something! Therefore, keep in mind that the telescopic baton does not like the law, it’s easy to buy, but it’s difficult to answer for it.
