What attracted the spinning wicker so that they increasingly switch to it with monofilament fishing line? The answer is not as clear as it seems at first glance. A braided cord cannot be called an ideal solution for spinning, at least because of its relative high cost. The friction force is higher, so you have to choose high-quality and reliable gear, and then regularly check its condition. Casting range is not as large as you want. Nevertheless, the braid for spinning with its advantages anyone you want to seduce.
She is unlike Monofil stronger. She does not stretch, but does not curl. Knots holds well. Ultraviolet radiation is not afraid. Its service life is at least ten times longer. In all these parameters, the best indicators have not been achieved, but even so they are much higher than that of the monophile.
And yet, when a fisherman makes a choice of a braid for spinning, he must be careful to take exactly what is most suitable for his tackle and has guaranteed quality.
Let's start with the balance of gear, which is vital when it comes to jigging. A powerful braid that can not only hold large fish, but also uproot driftwood from the bottom, is not appropriate for light spinning. The casting range will decrease, bite will cease to be properly felt - and this is an incomplete list of all the problems. Therefore, when choosing a braid, proceed from the formula: the strength of the fishing line should be three quarters of the spinning power.
If the spinning braid has an inscription like “zero stretch” on the packaging - this is another plus in favor of the purchase. This is the undoubted advantage of the wicker, in one fell swoop covering all its shortcomings.
Another important plus is the presence of a braided cord with an outer shell. The friction, which is so painful for the spinning rings and the reel roller (which means that the casting distance increases), is immediately reduced, and the braided fibers themselves are protected from abrasion. But note: the greater the thickness and density of the shell, the greater the residual deformation, up to unacceptable.
As for the cord material, the best spinning braid is made from either nylon or modified polyethylene. The latter in terms of its bonus characteristics is quite a bit, but better.
The color of the cord should not be evaluated "on the shore" - the refraction of light in air and water is different. A yellow, green or blue fluorescent braid will allow the angler to further control the wiring, and for fish already at a shallow depth it will be practically invisible.
Lastly, a few tips on how to avoid fakes.
- As a rule, counterfeit expensive goods of the highest quality. Therefore, it is better if the braid for spinning is from a not too well-known manufacturer, but there will be more confidence in the authenticity of the product.
- Small wholesale counterfeit does not use holographic stickers, but at a loss. If one is present on the package, this is a weighty argument in favor of the purchase.
- Knowing the exact name of the manufacturer and the model of the braid will allow you to avoid the old trick when, by changing one letter in the name, a world-famous brand is imitated. Example: Sony and Soni.
- Always use the same methods for determining the authenticity of products as for other goods: company information for the consumer on the package, the presence of the latter, the presence of a certified copy of the certificate from the seller, etc.
- Always check the quality of packaging, labels, spools, cords.
Search, try, evaluate. Be prepared for the mismatch between the actual parameters of the braided cord and those declared by the manufacturer. Very surprising cases can also occur: a spinning braid from an anonymous Chinese company with excellent qualities and amazingly low price!
