Today, computers are used everyday and everywhere. For many, they work without any glitches, but for many, on the contrary. And the most unpleasant is the fact that unexpectedly, the PC turns off during operation, and all the data it processes at the moment is lost in most cases.
The computer itself shuts down due to the software part
This is sometimes considered normal if the PC shuts down without user intervention. First of all, you need to pay attention to what time the computer itself turns off . If this happens, for example, at night when you are not using it, then it is possible that some program is installed that disables it. If this happens after some time (5, 10, 15 minutes, etc.) after you stop using the computer, then your operating system most likely does this in order to save energy.
All of the above cannot be called problems - these are, rather, the wrong settings. But if this does not apply to your PC, then you need to check the system for infection with its virus. The operating system may also be the fault. If any system files, settings, etc., were deleted or changed, then the easiest way to fix the situation is to reinstall the OS. It is worth noting that programs rarely become the reason that the computer itself shuts down. Most often this happens due to the fault of the equipment.
The computer itself shuts down due to hardware failures
As you know, if the PC turns off completely, it means the loss of electricity in it. Therefore, what you should first pay attention to is the power supply. Firstly, you need to check its power (usually indicated on the sticker). If, for example, it is 300 W, and the sum of the powers of all the devices that are currently connected to the PC is the same or more than this value, then the computer itself shuts down for this reason. It is not recommended that this indicator reach a high mark. The computer will turn off because overload protection is installed in the power supplies. In this case, you can try to turn off some devices (up to USB) and see if there will be a power outage.
There is another unpleasant reason why the computer restarts or shuts down altogether - overheating of any element of the PC. The power supply itself, and the processor, and the south or north bridge , etc. can overheat. To determine this, you can use one of the special utilities, such as Everest Ultimate. The program immediately at startup will show the temperature of a device (however, the power supply will have to be checked manually). For most elements, a temperature of 100 degrees is already critical, and when they heat up to this point, the self-defense system works, and the computer itself turns off.
Heating does not occur immediately. Its speed depends on the room temperature, as well as on the effectiveness of the cooling devices. Here they just need to be checked. Here, you immediately need to pay attention to the speed of their rotation - you may have to lubricate the coolers with oil or even replace them.
But there are frequent cases when all of the above problems are not present on the PC: the operating system is normal and not infected with viruses, coolers rotate properly and the elements do not overheat, but still the computer turns off. In such a situation, they can help in the workshops: maybe some separate element does not work correctly, suddenly ceasing to function, because of which the whole device stops working.
