For more than a decade, the famous journalist Schuster has been living and working in Ukraine. Behind him is a long way, he is an experienced person in the affairs of the media. Realizing his life views and combining this process with making money, he often changed television channels that broadcast a particular show with him as a presenter. The mass audience got used to the programs, so at times the question arose about where Savik Schuster went. And each time it turned out that the presenter did not disappear anywhere, and now he is conducting a show on another TV channel.

Short biography before moving to Ukraine
Shusteris Shevelis Mikhailovich was born in the capital of Soviet Lithuania in the fall of 1952. I studied for three semesters at Vilnius University, at the Faculty of Medicine. In 1971, he left with his parents in Canada. His father was a football player, quite famous, and his mother worked as a lawyer. Five years later, Schuster graduated from McGill University of Montreal. But biology was not so attractive to a young man as journalism. Having chosen the career of "shark pen", he was published in many leading periodicals, and this is not surprising. There were not many who wanted to cover events in the "hot spots" in the benign West. The list of risky business trips is extensive: Israel Chad, Palestine, Lebanon and, finally, Afghanistan. In those years he was brave and, performing the tasks of “Newsvik”, “Shpigel” or “Liberation”, he often participated in the sorties of the Mujahideen against the “Shuravi”, holding a camera in his hands. Then there was the Radio Liberty station, where he created the Moscow branch and headed it.
In 1996, he came to Moscow and began his career on NTV. After the conflict of 2001 with the new leadership of the television company, many employees left it, and Schuster did not follow their example, for which the journalist was fired from the state of the Liberty radio station. For him, this did not matter much: he conducted several programs (“Third Half”, “Hero of the Day”, “Influence”, “Freedom of Speech”), and there was enough work. But in 2004, the situation changed. In 2005, Russian television refused the services of a journalist. Where did Savik Schuster go? He left for Ukraine.
Ukraine
Schuster’s first job in independent Ukraine was ICTV, actually owned by President Kuchma. Here he led the “Freedom of Speech”, according to the approximate scenario of this program, and all subsequent talk shows were compiled. The technology of this action is simple: representatives of various social groups take part in it (as declared), but in fact the audience in the hall is drawn from extras, which are brought from different cities, paying travel and subsistence allowance. The program was fully consistent with the tasks set by the leadership of the television company and part-time country. Where did Savik Schuster go after leaving ICTV? With the same program, the journalist soon switched to Inter, the central Kiev channel.
When Yushchenko and Yanukovych
The best time for Schuster was during the presidency of Yushchenko. The program "Great Ukrainians" propagandized the idea of ​​national exclusivity so beloved by the new leader. The president sometimes took part in live broadcasts, and voting, including interactive, clearly demonstrated the growth of national-patriotic moods - weak at first - towards the end of the broadcast. Progress has been made. Under Yanukovych, the situation remained almost the same. Despite the assurances of representatives of the current government, the fourth president of Ukraine was by no means a Russian agent, and he supported all national ideas, although not as eagerly as his predecessor. But everything is changing, and in 2007 the journalist decides to open his own television channel. The audience asked each other where Savik Shuster's “Freedom” had gone, but soon the show with the showman showed up on the Ukraine channel.
Late Schuster
A striking example of ethereal manipulations is the events of the end of 2012, when very interesting replacements occurred in the program. “Why did Schuster disappear from the air?” - both spectators and journalists puzzled in January 2013. The response of the First National leadership was not long in coming and explained the refusal to demonstrate cutting the most successful episodes of the show by the fact that the audience was obviously more interested in the vivid show Circus Magic.
After the overthrow of Yanukovych, it seemed to many that real freedom would now definitely come. But the program "Schuster LIVE" suddenly disappeared somewhere. And the answer to the question “why did Schuster disappear from the air” should obviously be sought in the method of its work. Usually the show was carefully directed, but recently the presenter began to abuse such a risky technique as live broadcast. Unpredictable interactive guests filled the content of the debate with very controversial remarks, and sometimes swearing, which somewhat undermined the show's reputation. There is also a legal explanation, which, however, provides an answer to the question “why,” rather than “where did Savik Schuster go?” The fact is that the current Ukrainian government, preoccupied with the creation of a monolithic information field over the entire country, has issued a number of laws restricting foreign ownership of the media. And Savik, as you know, has two citizenships - Italian and Canadian. Against the background of the intense monopolization of Ukrainian TV channels, some associations with Russia of the mid-90s appear, and the names of Gusinsky and Listyev pop up in memory.
