And what kind of brakes?

First reason. Overheat
When the user does not monitor the amount of dust in the system unit and on the fan, it is quite natural that they will start to work worse. In the winter season, this may not be so noticeable, but in summer all the “sores” will come out.
The clutter of the system unit is the first cause of computer brakes. What to do in this case is described below:

And there are many similar utilities, download them and carefully monitor the temperature. In the normal state, the indicators are in the range of 40-70 degrees Celsius. If the temperature rises above, your computer or laptop will turn off. And this will be a cause for concern and will cause computer brakes.
The second reason. Registry clutter
Not only external causes become the key to incorrect operation. A large number of installed applications naturally cause juggling when working with a computer.
They create temporary files that clutter up your device’s registry. If your Windows 7 computer slows down, then you take care of it poorly and do not clean it. A filled hard drive is "choked" with the information received, because there are too many unnecessary files.
How to clean?

A large number of simultaneously running or already open applications noticeably slows down the computer. To fix this, you must:
- Run the CCleaner program.
- In the menu, select "Service" and click on "Startup".
- In the subparagraphs click on "Startup".
Then turn off those programs that you do not use. To do this, left-click on "Off".
If you do not want to download third-party programs, but use only system capabilities, then open the command line with the Win + R key combination and follow the following algorithm:
- In the open window, enter "msconfig" and click on "OK."
- You will see "System Configuration", there you need to click on "Startup".
- Uncheck those programs that you do not need at startup.
- Once done, immediately click on "Apply" and then "OK."
