Corrugated. Recently, these models are becoming more popular. Their advantages include primarily the simplicity of the design. Design Features of Corrugated Siphon
Most often, the corrugation with a sink siphon is made of white plastic. But sometimes metal models are also on sale. Such a siphon is an ordinary corrugated pipe with two connecting nodes on both sides. That is, the main advantages of models of this type, among other things, include flexibility. The siphon not only bends easily. If desired, it can be stretched or, conversely, squeezed.
As already mentioned, one of the main functions of any siphon is to delay unpleasant odors coming from the sewer. In ordinary models, a similar effect is achieved due to the presence of a knee, in which a thick water plug forms. That is why pipe siphons are rarely used in kitchens. Their bend is very small. Therefore, with the rare use of such a model, the water plug simply dries up, as a result of which odors begin to flow into the room.

Dismantling the old unit
Removing the old siphon from the sink is pretty simple. First, the plastic nut is unscrewed and the pipe is removed. Then the neck is removed. To do this, unscrew the screw inside the sink on the drain. It should simply be firmly held by a screwdriver and at the same time turn the neck cone below with your free hand.
Under the sink, of course, you should first substitute a small bucket or put a thick rag. Sometimes, in spite of all efforts, the nut and screw cannot be unscrewed. In this case, you have to break the mesh in the sink. This should be done carefully, lifting its edges around the circumference upward with a screwdriver, being careful not to scratch the enameled or steel surface.
Corrugated sink siphon: assembly
This operation is also simple. Previously, a special gasket is laid on the edges of the washing hole. It is also advisable to grease this place with silicone. Next, the neck of the new siphon with a mesh is inserted into the hole and screwed with the screw that comes with the kit. After it is fixed, the corrugation itself is attached to it with a nut.
A special clamp must be included with a siphon of this design. The corrugation is bent in the form of the letter N and these elements are fixed in this position. The result is the necessary “knee”. In the next step, the bottom bell is simply inserted into the sewer pipe. Everything, a siphon for a sink with a corrugation is installed. It remains only to check the sink for leaks.
As you can see, installing a siphon with a corrugation, provided that it is correctly selected, is a relatively simple procedure. Its design includes only a pipe, a neck and a collar. The only difficulty that may arise during the assembly is the dismantling of the stuck neck or nuts of the old assembly.
