In criminal Russia, the Novokuznetsk organized criminal group is known as one of the bloodiest. Unlike many other criminal gangs that formed in Russia in the 90s, these former athletes did not shy at all from their hands, and therefore their campaign for tribute from stalls and small companies could end for obstinate owners with death or disability. Their motto was simple enough: “You have to share your income with good people,” therefore, in their opinion, such a receipt of money was completely normal. In addition to their impressive appearance, they had one weighty argument - the bandits constantly carried a severed hand with them in a sports bag, which they were not afraid to show as a result of what would happen to those who would oppose their will. A similar reputation of the Novokuznetsk organized criminal group was created by a former fighter who served in the landing - Vladimir Labotsky.
First leader
In the early 90s, Novokuznetsk began to actively develop its industrial base, so many entrepreneurs appeared. The economy, which began to develop, attracted poor athletes who simply did not have a livelihood, so they gradually moved into the criminal sphere. At one time, the documentary "Novokuznetsk organized criminal group" was created, which told the story of the formation of this group.
It takes its beginning, as already mentioned, from Vladimir Labotsky, who, after serving in the army, began to think about what he should do next. First, he engaged in barter, opening a reception center and selling household appliances received from citizens. However, he did not intend to live like this for a long time, and therefore he began to gather former fellow athletes around him.
Novokuznetsk Al Capone
It is impossible to deny the fact that Labotsky was a very self-confident person, since he did not join any of the existing groups. Together with Igor Shkabara, he assembled a group consisting exclusively of athletes, which in no case could the former sitters enter. He had only 3 selection criteria - healthy, strong men without any bad habits.
The Novokuznetsk organized criminal group, its hierarchy and internal order were copied from films about Al Capone, the head of the Chicago mafia. It was they who became a kind of training tool for crime for people who had not previously violated the law.
First crimes
First of all, Labotsky decided to seize power in the region, but at the same time do it in such a way that his people did not directly get into a showdown. In 1992, the largest authority in Novokuznetsk was Nikolai Selivanov. It was Labotsky who decided to run into him. He sent his people to the village of Zarechye, where the soldiers of Selivanov rested. They were in black masks, so it was impossible to identify them. Wielding sharp hatchets, they killed several people. It is believed that it was here that the Novokuznetsk organized criminal group acquired its bloody trophies, which subsequently intimidated businessmen.
Selivanov began to take revenge, but because the war unfolded in the city. Outside, Labotsky began to seize power over the city, crushing other authorities. His group became not only the largest in Novokuznetsk, but also gained influence in other cities - Irkutsk, Tomsk, Gelendzhik and Krasnoyarsk. Their sphere of activity usually included only racketeering.
Military hatchet
Subsequently, a small sharp hatchet became a kind of calling card of this group, first of all, this was done by one story. Once a merchant who did not want to pay a “roof” tried to organize resistance to the Novokuznetsk organized criminal group. It all ended so sadly that the story itself turned into a horror story - Labotsky’s fighters twisted it right on a crowded market and chopped off a rebel’s foot. When he paid all the debts to the group, Labotsky gave him a hand-operated disabled car.
In similar ways, the group began to crush for themselves and other merchants. Quite often it was possible to see tents and stalls that simply flew into the air in the middle of the day. The criminal authority independently collected bombs, although after a while there was a channel for the supply of TNT.
Go to the capital!
By the end of 1992, Labotsky realized that in Novokuznetsk he had nothing to catch. He simply squeezed out everything he could from the businessmen, besides, it seemed to him that the opponents were trying to remove him from the game. Therefore, he moved to conquer Moscow, appointing instead governors who should continue to collect tribute, sending it almost completely to the leader, leaving himself miserable crumbs.
He came to Moscow in the company of about 20 fighters, among whom was Shkabara and Labotsky’s personal killer - Dmitry Kondrashov, who was immensely devoted to his boss because he had taken him at one time - a poor boy who suffered from the oppression of an alcoholic mother .
Arriving in Moscow, Labotsky decided to first collect all old debts. His debtor at that time was the deputy general director of one of the Novokuznetsk firms, who had once fled the city along with the money that was intended for the group. His nickname was Chinese, and in Moscow he walked under the protection of the Orekhovskaya gang. Novokuznetsk organized criminal group in Moscow began the path of its formation precisely with him.
Killing the Chinese and several of his bodyguards right in the sauna, Labotsky did not even bother to somehow disguise this crime. In addition, he was not even afraid of accidental casualties - on that day an ordinary high school student was injured, who was detained in a school located near the sauna. This case caused a huge resonance, since even in such a criminal time, shooting at school was simply unacceptable. In addition to a huge number of shells, Kalashnikovs were also discovered, which were the instruments of crime. It was after this that among killers a tradition appeared immediately after the case to drop their weapons in order to complicate the matter to the investigating authorities.
Labotsky used a huge number of bugs for his needs, which soon gave him a reputation as an omniscient. However, after a while it became clear that he simply outwitted himself, and therefore, in the end, death awaited him.
Death of authority
In addition to his opponents, Labotsky listened and associates. Among them was Igor Shkabara, who from the very existence of organized crime groups has played the role of the right hand. It is not known for certain whether he really betrayed Labotsky, because Igor made a drunk announcement that he wanted to become the new leader, but the boss did not check and sentenced his former friend - death.
For the murder, Labotsky decided to collect the bomb, however, as a result of a series of accidents, he touched the garage near which he was passing along with Shkabara, the bomb exploded. Labotsky, in fact, killed himself, although Shkabar fired a control shot in the head.
That is precisely what the founder of the Novokuznetsk group, which kept several cities in fear, ended his life.
New leader
After the funeral, Shkabara declared himself the new leader, but many fighters did not like it, and therefore unrest began in Moscow and the riot in Novokuznetsk. Suppressing the rebellion, he set to work for the Moscow comrades, first removing Kondrashov, who was still faithful to Labotsky, and his deputy Sergei Gnezdich. However, after killing them, he left several evidence that later helped the police detain not only him, but all the other soldiers. In 1999, a trial was held, where the leader was sentenced to 15 years in prison, and all other members for a shorter time. At that time, such punishment was the maximum possible.
Vladimir Podgorny
According to a documentary from Criminal Russia, in the Novokuznetsk organized crime group, Podgorny was the last significant authority, after the death of which the affairs of the group went down sharply. He was killed in 2008 at the age of 33 in his own car. The murder was planned and unusually brutal - 18 bullets were found in the body of the authority, and they shot him so randomly that even passers-by were hit.
Podgorny was previously tried for robbery, so he had the nickname Podgora. Officially, he did not work anywhere, but unofficially, the police believe that the Novokuznetsk criminal group of Podgorny controlled several areas of the city, he enjoyed considerable authority.
It is not known for certain why he was the victim. According to one version, this was the usual division of territories, and according to another, Podgora was going to leave the criminal business after the birth of his daughter.
Conclusion
The Novokuznetsk group was never afraid of blood, and therefore the capture of the city under its authority by former athletes was carried out by methods that cannot be seen in other places. In the television program Criminal Russia in 1997, they talked about this organization and the death of its leader. Then they talked about other criminals. For example, such is Karpov. Novokuznetsk organized criminal group was repeatedly covered in this program.
