AIDA64

Moreover, not only they are available, information can be read from any sensor that is located inside the system unit or laptop. In general, the utility has many additional features, but so far we will focus only on this one. There are two ways to obtain temperature measurement data.
First way
In order to see the temperature values of all system components, run the application. A tree menu will be located on the left side of the window that opens. Click on the “+” sign next to the “Computer” submenu. In the drop-down list, select "Sensor". Now look at the right side of the dividing line. Here you can see two fields. The name of the first is "Field". Below this label are all the devices on your computer. The second is "Meaning." It can indicate the temperature, voltage applied to a specific component or the speed of rotation of the cooler.
The first method is far from always suitable, because the program for checking the temperature of the processor and video card will show the user the values received from the sensors at a given time. Charting is not available in this mode. Also, for monitoring, you will have to switch from other applications to AIDA64, which will undoubtedly unload most of the hardware, and this, in turn, will reduce power consumption, and as a result, heat dissipation.
Stress test
In the event that, while performing simple tasks, the PC works fine, and when powerful applications start up, crashes start, it is possible to check the components for overheating under heavy load. You can do this in AIDA64 by clicking on the icon that looks like a graph.
After clicking on the screen, a window with diagrams will appear. The program for checking the temperature of the processor allows you to configure them. Click on the "Preferences" (or "Settings") button. They have the ability to select the time for updating the graphs, limiting the minimum and maximum values that will be recorded, indicate from which sensors to collect data and set colors.
After completing the configuration, pay attention to the upper left corner of the window. It contains the names of the components that will be tested. Near each inscription there is a checkmark that allows you to disable a particular check. It is advisable to uncheck the box next to "Stress Local Disks", because there is a possibility that even the smallest malfunction will lead to the failure of the hard drive if you perform its endurance test.
It remains to click on the "Start" button. Be careful. Do not leave your computer for long while checking. During the stress test, the program for checking the temperature of the processor will load it as much as possible. Complete the procedure if it becomes clear that one or more of the components has become too hot. High temperatures are a fact of cooling problems.
Hwmonitor
HWMonitor is much simpler than AIDA64. There is nothing superfluous in it. Its main difference is not only in this, but also in the fact that this tool is absolutely free, although less functional.
Installing the utility takes less than a minute. After starting, the program for checking the temperature of the processor will immediately open its main and only window in which there are no additional tabs. All content is divided into four columns:
- Sensor - indication of the sensor from which the readings are taken.
- Value - the value at the current time. Depending on the sensor, the temperature, frequency, voltage and number of revolutions per minute (for fans with a built-in tachometer) can be indicated.
- Min is the minimum value seen.
- Max - the maximum numbers of indicators.
What should be the temperature?
Computer today is a very powerful tool for logical and mathematical processing of information. Exceeding a certain threshold can lead to a decrease in the overall performance of the PC, and can completely disable the device. When the program for checking the temperature of the processor is selected and opened, Windows 7 sends new data to the user, second after second, but what exactly should the system devices have in order for them to continue to operate at the maximum of their capabilities without failures?
I must say that here the users were divided into two camps - some prefer to focus on general recommendations, the second on the critical values that the manufacturer set.
For the central processor, a temperature of up to 45-50 degrees in idle time and up to 65 under load is recommended. For a video card - up to 55 and up to 80, respectively.
The manufacturer can set a critical temperature for his individual models that exceeds these recommendations. For example, some models of AMD video cards can work stably even at 90 degrees.
It’s better to focus on something in between. If the program for checking the temperature of the laptop processor shows values that exceed the recommended ones, it is not at all necessary to urgently change the thermal grease or the cooling system, it is quite possible that for your device this behavior is considered normal. Just do not be too lazy to look at the manufacturer's website.
