How to enable cookies in popular browsers

One of the signs by which you can determine a truly competitive software application is the convenience of working in it. In particular, every year it is becoming increasingly apparent that the appearance of the running program, the ability to independently configure some parameters, and even partial interference with the operation algorithms are sacrificed to automatic functions. For example, the latest Microsoft operating system - Windows 8 - attracted few people with corny angular forms of its interface, but the basic functions are configured and work out of the box. A similar situation has developed in the market of Internet browsers: all development groups seek to simplify the work of the end user with their program as much as possible. One of the very convenient functions of all browsers is the support of cookies, and the user does not need to think about how to enable cookies, because they are enabled by default.

Cookies (cookies - cookies) are small in volume files containing textual information. They are automatically transferred by the visited web page to the user's computer and stored in the corresponding folder of the browser. In the file structure, the name of the target site and data on the properties of the provided pages, user settings on the site, etc. are indicated. When this web resource is accessed again, it checks for the presence of the corresponding cookie in the browser. If there is no such file (the resource has not been previously visited), then it is transferred to the computer. If available, the browser itself sends the file to the site, thereby identifying the visitor. Obviously, the user can both enable cookies and disable their use. All browsers allow you to do this.

Before considering how to enable cookies, here is an example of their use. A user, using a browser, visits the target site and registers on it, receiving a username and password for further access. It can be some kind of chat, online store, banking site, etc. After a while, you need to go to the same site. But now when entering, there is no need to enter a password / login, as they are stored in cookies, and access to the site occurs automatically (this data is transferred to the resource in the background). No doubt convenient.

Enable cookies in the opera is very simple. To do this, in the browser, press the combination of Ctrl + F12, open the “Advanced” tab and go to “Cookies”. Everything is obvious here - we indicate "accept all cookies" (by default). By the way, here you can also manage the reception of these files. If automatic login is not performed, then you need to press the combination Ctrl + Enter on the desired page.

The popular Firefox browser also makes it easy to figure out how to enable cookies. To do this, follow the menu "Settings" and select "Settings". Next, indicate the "Privacy" tab. In the "History" drop-down list, select "Your settings" (third entry). Check the box “Accept cookies”, to simplify the work, do not forget to activate the reception from third-party sites.

Understanding how to enable cookies in Internet Explorer 8, which is part of Windows 7, is no less simple. We follow in the menu "Service" and we open "Internet Options" and further "Confidentiality". By moving the slider up and down, you can configure the reception of cookies.

In Google Chrome, open the menu and follow the "Settings". Click "Enable advanced settings." In the "Personal Information" section, indicate "Content Settings". Here for cookies you need to enable "Allow data storage."

In general, it is not necessary for the average user to block small text cookies, as this disrupts the work with many sites, complicating the identification procedure. The ban on the use of cookies is necessary, in particular, to ensure additional privacy, although, of course, in this case we can’t talk about complete anonymity.
