Childhood

Furmanov Rudolf Davydovich was born in Leningrad in 1938. His parents divorced immediately after the birth of the boy, and when he was one and a half years old, his mother died of tuberculosis. Since that time, the upbringing of the baby was dealt with by his own aunt - Maria Andreyevna Gromova. He owes it to her that he survived the siege of Leningrad. In 1988, Rudolf Davydovich Furmanov founded the Russian Entreprise Theater named after A. Mironova. At that time it was a unique project, since it combined the contract model of enterprises and the traditions of the Russian repertoire of regular theater that had developed in the 19th century. In the first 8 years of the existence of Russian Entreprise, the productions were staged on different stages, until in 1996 he received a “permanent residence permit” in the so-called Tower House, which is located on the Petrograd side.
