The organized crime group is an abbreviation of an organized criminal group. In the dashing 90s there were many such gangs. One of the largest is the Chikunovskaya organized criminal group (Saratov), a photo of its leader is in this article. The period of its activity fell on the beginning of the 90s. The group was named for its leader - Igor Vladimirovich Chikunov.
History of the creation of the group
In the 90s, criminal gangs arose like soap bubbles. Many of them also burst quickly. However, the Saratov Chikunovskaya gang has a different story. She appeared immediately after the assassination of Vladimir Hapalin, nicknamed Khapug. He was the godfather of the Chikunovskaya gang.
Its leader worked in the cooperative "Planet". Hapalin was killed on September 27, 1990. He was shot dead in his garage. This was followed by a series of murders ordered by former accomplices of Khapuga. As a result, the criminal empire he created broke up into factions.
Gang Leader
The leader of one of them was Igor Chikunov. He was born in March 1966. He grew up in Saratov in the Zavodsky district. Chikunov graduated from a pedagogical college, was engaged in boxing in the sports section. There he met the future leaders of the criminal world. He got into it a little later. At first, Chikunov was detained several times by the police, but the investigators were not able to bring a criminal case against him and bring him to justice.
After graduating from college, Igor began to think about where and how to make a lot of money. Just at that time, fundamental changes were taking place in the country, and Chikunov fell into a criminal stream. First, he found himself at the beck and call of the authority of Vladimir Hapalin, who opened the Planet cooperative. There Igor began to work.
Hapalin was able to find and unite the criminal authorities of Saratov, each of them headed a separate group. However, all the threads of the criminal empire were in the hands of Hapalin. This was Igor's finest hour. He led the Chikunovskaya gang. Then, between the criminal gangs, a period of redistribution of spheres began.
The activities of the Chikunov group
When the gang of Hapalin broke up, several groups emerged from it at once. Igor became the leader of one of them. The gang began to be called Chikunovskaya. The people who were in the group unconditionally recognized the leader in Igor.
Chikunov managed to take control of large commercial structures not only in the city, but also in the region. After that, his power in the world of crime significantly strengthened. The fellows began to receive much more money than before. In addition to illegal, Chikunovskaya organized crime group (photos of its members are in this article) owned a legitimate business.
Over time, its leader could very well become one of the criminal authorities. The bandits were engaged in extortion and robbery, “roofed” large organizations, protecting their “feeding trough” from other groups.
Liquidation of the Chikunov group
The attempt on the members of the Chikunovskaya organized crime group was carried out on November 20, 1995. It made a lot of noise and caused a resonance in society. This was one of the most high-profile cases, since not only the leader of the group was killed, but also many members of the gang.
On that last day for Chikunov, he spent time with his lads in the office of the Storm company. It was a company completely controlled by the group. At that moment, there were fourteen people in the room. Some examined magazines, others played cards, and a relaxed and relaxed atmosphere reigned.
It was a complete surprise for everyone when a pair of killers with weapons in their hands quickly rushed into the room. Mercenaries did not conduct preliminary conversations, but simply shot almost the entire gang.
The killers killed 11 members of the Chikunovskaya organized crime group, among whom was the leader of the criminal formation. Miraculously, only three of the lads survived. All of them were taken to the hospital. The doctors could not save one member of the gang - he died from his wounds. The second thug simply went crazy, and the expert commission recognized him insane.
The young man was sent for treatment to a psychiatric clinic, from which he had never left. The third surviving bandit, Armen Avakyan, only 8 years later said that he recognized one of the killers. All these years he was silent, as he feared for his life.
Murder investigation
During the investigation of the crime, law enforcement agencies constantly faced conflicting information. More and more witnesses appeared with polar testimonies, informants gave different information.
In 2004, Alexei Tsygankov, who was serving a life sentence, reported that he was one of the killers, and Mikhail Orlov, the second accomplice. Both of them at the time the crime was committed were in the criminal gang "The Seagull." According to Armen, who survived the shootout, he recognized one of the killers. This was Tsygankov, who was nicknamed Potap and was known as a well-known authority in the criminal environment.
After he received a life sentence, Armen decided to reveal the name of one of the criminals. A second killer was also found, it turned out to be Mikhail Orlov, who was engaged in the storage of weapons and drugs. A new trial began, during which a version was put forward that the conflict between criminal groups was the cause of the shootout. Other assumptions were made, for example, about unpaid debt, etc. However, the jury acquitted both suspects. Orlov was released in the courtroom, but his recognition did not affect Tsygankov.
According to other sources, information leaked that the Chikunov group was liquidated by the White Arrow gang, which was engaged in the elimination of criminal authorities. Indeed, when the crime was committed, in Saratov there was a sweep of gangs. However, this version has not been confirmed.
Gang breakup
After the liquidation of the twelve members of the Chikunov group, she first acquired a new leader - Alexei Yeruslanov, who is referred to in the criminal environment as a Professor. He gradually legalized the activities of the gang, creating a network of organizations on whose balance there was a lot of property.
However, the Professor could not keep the group from breaking up. Gradually, she split into several small criminal gangs. All of them entered different Saratov organized crime groups. After a long period of time, the press remembered the Chikunovka bandits. The reason was the sale of an apartment that belonged to its leader.
A film about the Chikunovskaya organized criminal group (Saratov) was even shot. Now the criminal 90s are in the past. Many leaders of other criminal groups have moved to live permanently abroad. The remaining brothers legalized the business, now they manage organized crime groups from the shadows. Such violent showdowns with skirmishes no longer exist. However, the criminal environment still has an impact on many areas of life.
