The philosophy of technology is today an interesting topic to study, since almost everyone understands that many technical means have become an integral life attribute of modern man. Today it is difficult to imagine that once there were no cars, computers, the Internet and mobile phones. Thanks to technological innovations, as well as the constant introduction of modern technology in everyday life, our world has become more communicative and accessible.
In general, such a discipline as the philosophy of technology is engaged in the study of nature, characteristics and specifics of technical knowledge, as well as the history of the evolutionary development of technical means. It is important to note that the study is conducted not just as a statement of a certain fact about the achievement of a specific level of technological development, but with reference to the influence of this achievement on the life of most of human society. If we talk about today's time, then many sectors of the development of activities and, above all, information technology, came out on top in terms of influence on modern society. All modern people know how to use computer technology, as well as the world wide web - the Internet.
It is important to note that the philosophy of technology does not have a single and clearly structured system, since (in addition to its own philosophy) it includes historical, axiological and methodological aspects. Indeed, for a competent study of the influence of technology on a person, one should also take into account the degree of perception of everything new and unknown. Practice, however, indicates that initially most people react to serious innovations negatively, which is explained by human psychology. Indeed, the perception of something new brings with it a change in the existing state of things, as well as an influence on deep-rooted habits. Therefore, the psyche and prevents the introduction of new equipment and technology, and therefore there is also a long adaptation period of getting used to innovation.
Thus, there are the main problems of the philosophy of technology, one of which is the psychological difference in the level of perception by people of information new to them. In addition, it should be noted that, in general, such a philosophy is focused on two main tasks:
1. Understanding a technical invention, an understanding of its nature and essence. The need to resolve this issue arose not so much in connection with the crisis of technology, but in connection with the general issues of “technogenic civilization”. Now it is becoming clear that environmental, cultural, anthropological and other crises are closely associated with the active introduction of appropriate equipment.
2. The search for ways to resolve the crisis, where the philosophy of technology is actively involved, through scientific dissertations, research and industrial research.
Separately, it should be said about such an important aspect of the achievement of technical civilization as artificial intelligence. Modern computer technology has made it possible to invent such a technique, the programs of which can almost completely replace a person in some branches of science and industry. Thanks to this, an in-depth study of many issues related to the study of the universe, biological organisms, the human genome and so on has become available. The latest nanotechnology has made it possible to create such technical devices that have minimal dimensions, but have the maximum potential for beneficial effects.
Thus, in general, the philosophy of technical sciences allows us to substantively study the mutual influence of man on technology, and vice versa. Many scientists conduct research in this area of philosophical research, publishing dozens of monographs and scientific and journalistic articles on this subject. What will be the further influence of technical innovations on a person, the future will show.
