Telescopic spinning is inexpensive and easy to transport

The choice of spinning is a very difficult matter, especially for a beginner. Stores offer a very large assortment, and figuring out what is suitable in each case is quite difficult. It is very good if you choose an experienced fisherman to go with you. But, in any case, even before going to the store, you should decide on the following important points:

  • The amount you can spend on this purchase;
  • Type of fishing and its conditions;
  • Approximate mass of artificial bait;
  • Maximum casting distance;
  • The approximate size of the future catch.

And, of course, you should decide which is preferable: plug (composite) or telescopic spinning. Each of them has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Compound rods weigh less because retractable rods have docking units that make the structure a bit heavier. However, the telescopic spinning when folded is very small and convenient for transportation. It is suitable for those who like to relax in nature and travel, because it takes up very little space in a backpack or travel bag. Damaging the nod of telescopic spinning is quite difficult, but sometimes it happens. Then you just need to go to the store and get a new nod, and replacing it is not at all difficult. If you damage the upper part of the plug rod, then it is almost impossible to find.

A composite spinning rod can have a length of up to 7 meters, and sometimes more, but for its operation additional equipment is required : rod holder, retractable roller, etc. Telescopic spinning has a length of not more than 4 meters, but products with a length of 2.7-3.3 meters are most popular. Long fishing using a very long rod is very difficult, because it weighs quite a lot and with intensive fishing hands quickly get tired. This statement is true if you are not trolling.

Telescopic spinning is a little cheaper than a similar plug-in option. The cost largely depends on the material from which they are made. The best spinning rods are made of carbon fiber, which is also called carbon fiber and graphite. Products from this material are very lightweight, but they are quite expensive. The characteristics of this material depend on the modulus of graphite content. It is important to find a middle ground here. There is such a pattern: the smaller the number of the module, the higher the flexibility of the product, but the vibrations of the spinning tip do not fade for a long time, and this reduces the reaction rate and casting distance. In products with a high carbon fiber content, stiffness increases, but fragility also grows.

Fiberglass spinnings are much cheaper, do not require special care, but at the same time they have a big minus - quite a serious weight. Rods are also made from a composite, which is obtained by mixing carbon fiber and fiberglass. Specialists recommend purchasing such products only if there is not enough money to buy a better product. Recently, quite a lot of not very expensive carbon fiber rods have appeared in stores, and if you make some efforts, you can find an acceptable option.

Spinning, which would be suitable for different types of fish and fishing methods, simply does not exist. Of course, you can find the average option, but this is not the best solution. It is better for each type of fish to have a separate spinning rod, but it costs too much. For starters, just one spinning rod of good quality 2.4 meters long is enough. They can catch pike, perch from the shore or boat. Beginners should not buy sports or professional spinning rods, although some sellers strongly recommend these expensive products.
