Musical Theater of Kuzbass named after A. Bobrova, whose history goes back to the war years, today has in its repertoire performances of various genres. These are operas, and ballets, and operettas, and children's musical tales, and even musicals.
Theater History
Musical Theater of Kuzbass named after A. Bobrova began his creative life in 1944 in Novosibirsk. The troupe constantly toured, as it did not have its own premises. In 1945, artists were with performances in the Kemerovo region. According to the decision of the regional executive committee, there they remained for permanent residence. First, the theater worked in Prokopyevsk, and then moved to Kemerovo. In 1949, the troupe was replenished with artists who came from Tashkent. Among them was Alexander Konstantinovich Bobrov. He became the first actor in the city to receive the title of People's Artist. In 1999, the theater was named after A. Bobrov.
In 1963, the troupe received its own building. In 2008, it underwent a major overhaul and reconstruction. All systems were replaced, the interiors were changed, a new, most modern equipment appeared. The opening of the renovated building took place in 2012. A concert was organized on this occasion. Almost the entire troupe took part in it: ballet dancers, vocalists, a choir and an orchestra. Spectators who came to the concert were the first to appreciate the work of builders, architects and designers who worked on the reconstruction of the building.
In 2014, the Kuzbass Musical Theater. A. Bobrova celebrated his 70th anniversary. On this occasion, a gala evening was held.
Today, the theater’s repertoire includes performances of various musical genres: operas, ballets, operettas, fairy tales, rock operas and musicals. The troupe constantly tours, participates in festivals and competitions.
