Learning how to use Sony Vegas is easy. To begin with, like any other software, you need to start it by double-clicking on the shortcut from the desktop. Now we begin to understand how to work in Sony Vegas, namely - how to trim the video.
First of all, we select the video file that we need to edit. Hold it with the left mouse button and move it to the corresponding program window. If you want to overlay any sound or music, then we move the audio file to the same window. All the preparatory work before trimming the video in Sony Vegas, we carried out. Now you can move the video to the timeline - in the “Timeline” window at the bottom of the screen. To make it convenient to work with the recording, the timeline can be extended by twisting the mouse wheel away from you.
After that, we start playback and browse the file in order to learn how to crop the video in Sony Vegas in the place we would like to remove. To do this, at the right time, click on the pause. If this place is at the beginning, then move the cursor to the edge of the timeline until it takes the form of two arrows. Then we clamp it and lead along the scale until the moment that we need. At the same time, we monitor the playback in the preview window so as not to trim the excess. Similarly, the video fragment that goes at the end is deleted.
And how to crop a video in Sony Vegas to remove some fragment in the middle of the recording? There is nothing complicated here either. Pause recording where it is needed. Then select the place with the cursor and press the "S" key on the keyboard. After that you will see that the record is cut. Next, bring the cursor to the end of the unwanted fragment, stop and press "S" again. Now we click on the selected fragment with the right mouse button and then in the menu that opened to us, select “Delete”. After that, we move two pieces of the video together. When saved, they are recorded as a single file. To make the transition from one fragment to another smooth, you can overlay one video on another. To do this, click on one of the pieces and drag it to another. The duration of the video overlay is displayed on the timeline. It is best that this time does not exceed 2-3 seconds - then the transition will not be evident.
You can trim the video before placing it on the timeline. To do this, use the “Trimmer” tab. Before trimming the video in this window, right-click on the desired file. In the menu, select the "Open in the crop window" position. After that, we look in the window that appears. The selection area is indicated by yellow triangles. Control is carried out by moving the cursor to the desired position. After you select the segment that you need, use the arrow buttons at the bottom of the window to cut it and move it to the timeline.

Now the audio track in this area will be cleared. Now drag the sound file with the mouse to the timeline. If it is not necessary to reproduce it completely, carefully trim it.
