The author of this grandiose project is Arthur Janibekyan, one of the most successful Russian producers. Of course, in order to achieve such heights in the Russian show business, he had to go a long way along the career ladder.

Arthur Janibekyan: biography and origin

The famous Russian producer Arthur Otariyevich from his very birthday was original. It turns out that he was born on the rarest day of the year, or rather, on that day, which occurs only once every four years - February 29. His parents did not want to change the date of the birth of their son and write down his metrics in the column “date of birth” on February 28 or March 1 (as many who find themselves in this situation do), but left everything as it is.

So, the producer’s birth certificate says that Arthur Otariyevich Janibekyan was born on February 29, 1976 in the USSR, in the capital of the Armenian SSR, Yerevan. Parents: father - Otari Dzhanibekovich Hakobyan, mother - Ella Eduardovna Hakobyan. As you can see, here everything is not the same as everyone else! If you notice, Arthur's parents are named Hakobyan, and he is Janibekyan. It turns out that according to the old Armenian tradition, the grandson is given either the grandfather’s name or the surname by the name of the ancestor, adding the ending “yang” to it. Arthur's grandfather was called Dzhanibek, so it was decided that from now on the boy would walk in life not with the name of his father - Hakobyan, but like Dzhanibekyan.

By the way, this surname in Armenia is a dynasty of talented theater and film makers. Perhaps it was she who left an imprint on the future fate of Arthur, in whom no one in the family had ever had any relation to these types of art. Arthur Janibekyan’s father was a high-ranking party official in Soviet times, and his mother was a dentist.

Children and teenagers

In 1983, Arthur Janibekyan went to one of the Yerevan Russian schools. He studied with pleasure, but was a great prankster and prankster. He was distinguished by an excellent memory and had outstanding mathematical abilities. In addition, the boy was eloquent and inventive, and even in his school years played in the KVN team. After school, he entered the Faculty of Economics of Yerevan State University.

KVN team “New Armenians”

In 1993, Arthur Janibekyan, together with a group of like-minded people, decided to create a KVN team “New Armenians”. Initially, the team was called “Relatives from Yerevan”. The debut of the team on the Russian stage took place in the southern capital of our country - in Sochi. The guys from Armenia with their humor and resourcefulness were able to subdue the viewer and the authoritative jury, after which they ended up in the First League of KVN.

For a whole year (from 1994 to 1995), the team, which was renamed “New Armenians”, played in the seasons of the 1st league, and after becoming a finalist, went to the Premier League. Thus, the guys from Armenia (including the now famous Comedy Club producer A. Janibekyan) became widely known in Russia and the CIS countries. Until 1998, “New Armenians” played in the major league of KVN, had many victories and defeats, but left, becoming the owners of the 1998 summer cup.

In 1999, Arthur Janibekyan graduated from Yerevan State University and said goodbye to the game in KVN. He needed to decide what to do in the future. And so he, like some of the guys on his team, decided to try his hand at Russian show business, but not as an actor and performer, but as a producer. In addition, he really wanted to use his knowledge of an economist and help his friends, creative people, improve his financial situation.

He went to Moscow. Thanks to the connections established during performances in KVN, he got a creative producer on the new entertainment channel STS. This program was launched on TNT. It was a completely new comedy genre, which was an alternative for both KVN and Full House.
