Edgar was always attracted to writing, but he hid him behind the desire to succeed in another matter (as society demanded). The crushing end of his career and farewell to the last customer gave the man the opportunity to think about something more. So a businessman-loser began to write on the back of one of the accounting documents about the fate of a traveler, that somehow got to a completely different planet. This world is fundamentally different from the gray city. A riot of colors, opinions and stories reigned on Mars.
The idea came to write a story called "Princess of Mars." Without hope of understanding and further publication, Rice sent the draft to the publisher. The first three parts of the Barsum cycle were published in All Story Magazine.
Plot
The Lord of Mars is the third novel published in 1913. Completes the trilogy, which began the novels "Princess of Mars" and "Gods of Mars."
The protagonist named John Carter is now heading to a valley called Issa. The moment of the opening of the shrine is approaching, where Faydor Day Toris and Tuvius Ptars are kept in custody.
Everything would be fine, but the captives were captured by Matai Sanga and Turid, who were sent to the state of Kaol - the source of the most ancient religions. John Carter is trying to free them and stop the rogues from committing atrocities.
Along the way, the main character reunites with his relatives and reconciles the two militant Martian races: yellow (arctic) and red. For their journey and accomplished deeds, John is proclaimed Military Lord of Mars.
