The internal troops of the Republic of Belarus were founded on 11.11.1993 by order of the Council of Ministers. The staff structure included three special brigades, seven special battalions, an optional and training center. The commander of this unit was General V. Agolets (August 1994). The decree was signed by the president of the country.
Structural reformation
Due to the increase in the number of tasks assigned to the unit, as well as in order to reduce the growth of crime and strengthen law enforcement, in 1994 the Guards Motor Rifle Regiment No. 334 was included in the Internal Troops of the Republic of Belarus, and the 5th Special Forces Battalion was reorganized into a Special Forces Brigade.
To strengthen the transport representation of internal affairs, a special unit of the road police was created in the capital on the basis of the 4th patrol brigade. Its further name is a separate police special battalion.
In the same year, according to the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Belarus, the locations of military units 7404 (Baranovichi) and 5527 (Bobruisk) were determined. In October of the 94th, the composition of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus was replenished with the headquarters and units of civil defense, which were equipped with military personnel. (Direction of the President, autumn 1994).
Becoming
In autumn 1995, the President of Belarus approved the organizational order and deployment of explosives. To improve combat performance and improve the quality of control formed the Corps of Public Order. This part included compounds and groups responsible for the order in the streets and a mobile mechanic brigade. The commander of this unit was General Slaboshevich.
The expected outcome of the reformation and formation of the Internal Troops of the Republic of Belarus was the delivery of units and formations of combat banners and corresponding certificates (May 1998). The festivities were attended by: Secretary of State Sheiman, Minister Agolets, General Sevakov, veterans of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. On the banners handed over are the words symbolizing the main activity of the indicated units: “Duty, Honor, Fatherland”. In the late 90s, explosives were transformed into a single harmonious organism at all levels of professional training.
Further restructuring
Subsequent transformations in the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus occurred in June 2001. The mobile mechanized brigade (military unit 3310) has been renamed the 2nd Special Police Brigade. Its main purpose is general protection in the Minsk region and the solution of other tasks of a specific nature by order of the command. According to the same order, the 11th Mogilev battalion was transformed into the 5th brigade for object protection, and the 11th convoy battalion was formed on the basis of the 8th rifle unit (Baranovichi).
The first official explosive technology center of the Internal Troops of the Republic of Belarus was established in 2003. Its specificity is the identification, disposal and destruction of explosive objects and devices. At the beginning of 2014, the 3rd police battalion was restructured into the 6th special special brigade.
BB day
In June 2001, the Commander-in-Chief of the country signed Resolution No. 345 defining the day of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus. The document became an addition to the Order of 03/26/1998. A professional holiday is celebrated annually. The chosen date is due to the fact that it was then that in Vitebsk (1918) the first association was created, the functions of which are characteristic of the internal troops of Belarus.
