Thanks to races in difficult places - the Paris-Dakar rally-raid, which is held annually, truck rallies have become well-known and loved among the people. The list of similar autocrosses has recently been replenished with the Silk Way rally.
The first time races of this kind were held in 2009, passing through the territory of Russia, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. Then the route changed several times. The rally started both from Red Square in Moscow and from Palace Square in St. Petersburg. But all this is a professional motorsport, where there are factory teams, well sponsored by the manufacturer of these cars.
In addition, there are amateur truck rallies. Here, serial models are most often used, which, although slightly modernized, for the most part remain the same production machines. There are various categories. The competition involves both flatbed trucks and tractors. Trucks compete among themselves in various races, for example in mud driving.
More and more often, Russia began to participate and win in international competitions. The Russian team is already playing at the WRC rally and the issue of holding one of the stages of these races in Russia is being decided . In “Dakar,” our affairs are doing best.
