Spichenkovo Airport is one of two hubs in the Kemerovo region. This air harbor has international status. Why is Novokuznetsk airport so named? What services await a tired traveler in this hub? And how to quickly get from the airport to the center of Novokuznetsk, especially to its railway and bus station? We will talk about this in our short essay.
A brief history of the airport
Civil aviation began to develop in the Kemerovo region from the fifties of the last century. First, the Abagur military airfield was converted for its needs. He regularly received and sent passengers until 1968. It was then that the civilian airport Spichenkovo was opened. It got its name from the village closest to it, located in the Prokopyevsky district of the Kemerovo region. The airport fully met the then standards. It had one paved runway, a passenger terminal and a nearby hotel.
The airport is constantly being improved. Stripes were built that could receive aircraft of "heavy" designs. The terminal has also undergone reconstruction. The first flight outside Russia was made in the ninety-eighth year, but it was a charter. The status of the international airport Novokuznetsk received only in 2012. The first flight went to Bangkok. Since then, flights to Thailand have consistently enjoyed popularity.
Terminal Novokuznetsk today
Arriving passengers are not afraid of the harsh winter weather. Spichenkovo Airport (Novokuznetsk) hospitably invites you to a warm and bright two-story terminal. It is small, it is simply impossible to get lost in it. On the ground floor check-in takes place. After ten meters - customs and passport control. In the waiting room for ordinary passengers are metal chairs, a souvenir shop and an ATM. Despite its international status, the Spichenkovo airport for some reason still has not acquired a duty-free shop. The arrivals area is also small. It has a toilet and several benches.
Much more comfortable in the VIP zone. Instead of chairs there are soft sofas, there is a separate bar. There is also a cafe in the common room. But the prices in both catering establishments are much higher than the average for the city. Just a couple of minutes on foot will have to go to the hotel. In the terminal there is a room for mother and child. And in front of the building there is a free secure parking.

How to get to the city
The air harbor is located twenty kilometers west of Novokuznetsk. But this distance should not give you alarm. Spichenkovo Airport is connected to the city center by a bus route number one hundred and sixty. It passes through the railway and bus station of Novokuznetsk. And the route ends in the very center, on Oktyabrsky Avenue. The first flight leaves the city at 5:20, and the last from the airport at 22:21. The village of Spichenkovo is located in the Prokopyevsky district. Buses No. 20 and 130 go to the administrative center. Minibus No. 10 takes you to Tyrgan. If you rented a car, then to the center of Novokuznetsk you need to follow the third category highway, which passes through Kalachevo. Not far from the Spichenkovo airport terminal is the large Novokuznetsk-Kemerovo highway.
Reviews
Travelers claim that international flights rarely arrive at the airport terminal. Spichenkovo Airport is designed for a small number of passengers, its terminal is small. If during the holiday season two planes arrive at a short interval, then the turmoil and crush begin. Therefore, tourists recommend ordering a transfer from the airport. Of course, taxi drivers are on duty around the clock at the exit from the terminal, but if there are a lot of people who want it, there may not be enough cars. You can call the transport by phone, but given the twenty-kilometer distance, you have to wait for the car for about half an hour. And if you order a transfer, the driver will meet you with a sign with your name in the arrivals area, and help bring baggage. And the price will be quite comparable to the cost of a regular taxi. Agree that it is very convenient.
