A situation may arise when a user accidentally deletes the wrong partition by mistake. It looks not only deplorable, but for many users it is so disastrous that they simply have no idea what to do, because important information was stored in the remote section. Meanwhile, the restoration of hard disk partitions is quite simple. To do this, you need to show a little patience and perseverance, as well as choose the appropriate tool.
Partition recovery of a hard disk: why is it necessary and where to start?
Unfortunately, the carelessness of users when installing the operating system is far from the only situation when some kind of trouble can occur with the system or virtual partition. Sometimes (although infrequently) some virus applets can contribute to the removal of a partition, not to mention the physical wear of the hard drive, as a result of which the partitions become unreadable.
If we are talking about viruses, as you probably already understand, initially the system needs to be checked for their presence. The best option would be to use the disk utility Kaspersky Rescue Disk, with the help of which it is loaded even before the start of the operating system and a full scan of the computer is performed, not only disks and partitions, but also hidden components and boot areas.
In case of physical damage to the hard drive, it is advisable to start the restoration of the hard disk partitions with a magnetization reversal of the surface, which today only one utility can perform - HDD Regenerator.
Can partitions be restored using the system tools?
As for the Windows operating systems themselves, you can delete or merge partitions of the hard drive using the built-in disk management utility or the dispart tool working through the command console. But recovery tools for hard disk partitions in Windows, alas, is not provided. Therefore, no matter how good the latest OS modifications, third-party software will have to be used.
Next, we consider several basic programs that look the most simple to use, although they differ in operating principles and interface.
TestDisk
And the first in the list you can specify a universal program for recovering hard drive partitions called TestDisk. For ordinary users, it may seem somewhat unusual and complicated, since it works in a DOS-like mode. Nothing wrong! You can get used to it. But its tools are so wide that a positive result is guaranteed in almost all cases.
Before starting the recovery of deleted partitions of the hard drive, it is immediately worth noting that the application runs exclusively from removable media. Therefore, you must first write the image with the program to an optical disk or USB flash drive, and then set the selected device to be the first to boot in the BIOS settings.
After starting the utility, select the local drive from which the partition disappeared, and press the Proceed button (link in square brackets in the lower left). At this stage, you can select the type of file system (for installed Windows, Intel is usually used). After that, the start button of the analysis (Analyse) is pressed.
Upon completion of the scan, the Procced button is pressed again to search for the lost partitions, then the desired partition is selected, the Write button is pressed and the creation of the partition is confirmed with the Y key. After restarting the computer, a missing section with all the required information will appear in Explorer.

This program is no less interesting, but is paid. But you can restore hard drive partitions using it directly in the Windows environment. Everything is simple here.
First, a disk is selected, then a full scan is started, and upon completion, the restoration of the necessary partitions is activated. If you used a quick analysis, but some files did not recover, you can use the built-in search system (scanning a 500 GB hard drive on average takes about 45-50 minutes).

Finally, this utility, which looks very similar to the Windows disk management section, is the simplest not only of the programs under consideration, but of all disk applications.
To recover sections of a hard disk with information in full, an unallocated area of the hard drive is selected in it, scanning is started, labels are placed on the found deleted partitions, and the "Go" button is used for recovery. Again, you can use fast or full scan. As a rule, quick testing is used if there was no critical information that could be deleted in the section, or only a few unnecessary files were lost. If such a check does not give a result, you can use the second option. And he works, as they say, one hundred percent.
How to delete a recovery partition on a hard drive?
Finally, a few words about deleting the partition that stores system backups and restore points. By and large, for this procedure, you can use the previous utility.
You can also use the diskpart tool from the command line when booting from removable media. First, a disk with the installed OS is selected from the list, and then partitions are viewed.
In the next step, three (!) Hidden partitions are deleted. This is a reserve for recovery, EFI and MSR (it is necessary for GPT markup).
After that, an encrypted system partition (100 MB) is recreated, after which it is formatted, and then - MSR (128 MB). At the end of all actions, the exit command is issued.
