Modern office buildings, large shopping centers, train stations and airports - such public places with a large flow of people can no longer be imagined without automatic sliding doors. This design greatly simplifies the entrance and exit of the building for people with a suitcase, basket or pram. Doors open when approaching them and close after a set interval of time.
The choice of automatic doors is due to their undeniable convenience, as well as long service life and safety. The only obstacle to their installation will be the lack of space for opening the wings.
If the question arose of choosing whether to install a simple door or automatic sliding entrance doors, it is better to weigh all the advantages of the second design:
- they have increased bandwidth;
- the entrance to the building becomes more comfortable;
- work intensity totals millions opening cycles;
- maintaining a constant temperature by reducing heat loss;
- increased safety due to the presence of special sensors;
- raising the status of the organization.
There are only three options for opening automatic doors: swing, sliding and revolving.
Swing
This is the most economical solution. A special drive is installed on any existing door. The lever mechanism allows you to tightly close the door.
Sliding option
The automatic sliding door system is the most popular solution. The opening can not exceed three meters, but the height is not limited. Sliding doors have various variations: they can be radiused, telescopic, angular, semicircular, folding and equipped with an anti-panic system.
Rotating
These doors are called revolving, or revolving. They are designed for a very large flow of visitors. These doors are the only ones that support the microclimate of the room, while not interfering with the free passage of people. Neither dirt, nor cold or street noise penetrates the building when such a system is installed. These doors are not only reliable, but also durable: their resource is designed for 15-20 years of continuous operation.
Materials
Most often, for automatic doors, two proven and reliable materials are used:
- Stalinite. It is a tempered glass, which in the upper layer has a modified crystal lattice obtained by melting. This is done for security. If such glass is broken, the fragments will be with rounded edges, which will reduce the risk of cuts.
- Triplex. Using polymer compositions connect several layers of glass. Upon impact, this design will not collapse into small fragments, since most of them will remain glued.
Types of Sliding Doors
Installation of sliding automatic doors is determined by the project, depending on the conditions of the finished opening.
In most cases, this is an individual order. The most popular are four types of automatic doors:
- Standard . In this case, the sashes habitually go in opposite directions. The block itself contains horizontal guides for movement.
- Semicircular . This option may interest you with its unusual design. Such flaps look very stylish, while the interior can be chosen for any design idea - all thanks to the smooth bending of the guides and paintings.
- Corner It will become an original decision when choosing the design of both the facade of the building and the internal filling. The angle between the wings can be straight or any other size.
- Telescopic . Automatic sliding doors of this option provide for the presence of several wings in the aisle. At the same time, they completely overlap the space in the closed state, and in the open they go one after another. Such doors are installed when there is no additional space for installing other, more massive paintings.
Specifications:
- the opening speed of 2 shutter doors is about 1.5 m / s;
- the maximum total weight of the doors of the sliding doors is 200-260 kilograms;
- motor gear resource - at least 3 million openings;
- leaf thickness - about 10 mm;
- the sensorβs response speed is less than 1 second., while it is located at a height of 2 to 7 meters.
Auto Door Design Elements
There are three main elements of the door with automatic opening:
- Directly canvases that can be made of various materials.
- Guides and rollers that make up the mechanism of the sliding system.
- The drive is electronically controlled and equipped with additional accessories.
Cloths are made of triplex or stalinite, the frame for them can be steel or aluminum.
Automatic sliding glass doors are often transparent. Sometimes they can have drawings, engraving, dullness.
Sliding automatic aluminum doors have different profile thicknesses, depending on the weight of the sash. To seal the opening, special rubber seals and brushes are installed in the ends of the canvases.
The automatic door opening mechanism is located in its upper part. This is due to the fact that the installation from below due to a large influx of visitors will soon become unusable. Automatic sliding doors are installed, the instructions for which are provided by the manufacturer, only by professionals in this field. Otherwise, there may be a risk of improper installation, which will shorten the life of the product.
Automation components
Automatic sliding doors have several basic elements in electronics accessories:
- Sensor (or detector) of movement. Its function is to open door leafs when a person appears in a certain area, and then close the door leafs if, within a given time, the object is not in the system visibility range. Modern sensors do not respond to weather events (precipitation or light), and are infrared or microwave.
- Photocell. This device allows a person to be safe even in the doorway, while the canvas will not close.
- Batteries uptime. Automatic sliding doors can continue to work even when the main power is disconnected. But the operating time is limited by the battery charge.
- A selector that allows you to set different modes. Sometimes it is equipped with software.
- Locks of electromechanical type. They allow you to lock the doors when closing the building at night or on a non-working day.
Varieties of opening
Depending on the method of opening the canvases, automatic type doors are divided into:
- Sliding . In this design, the flaps simply move along the rails. It should be borne in mind that such a door does not hold much heat.
- Parallel sliding . Such a system is considered the most successful, although there is a threshold in it, but it is quite high and does not reduce the thermal properties of the door. Cloths go along the guides in the normal mode, and for ventilation the sash can be folded.
- Lifting and sliding . Automatic sliding doors of this design imply the presence of a fixed part into which the movable leaf leaves. At the same time, a door is a drawback, which degrades heat-shielding properties and is subject to icing at low temperatures.
Operating modes
Automatic doors are equipped with a special device - a selector, which allows you to select the desired opening mode. There are five modes of operation:
- Unilateral. At the same time, the door works in only one direction - at the entrance or exit.
- Standard. Movement occurs when an object approaches from any direction.
- Summer The canvases work as usual and diverge completely.
- Winter. The movement of paintings takes place to a certain limit, that is, not to the end.
- Closed. Sensors do not work on approaching the object, the canvases open only from the signal of a special electronic key, which is usually located at the guard.
Programs allow you to configure the opening of doors in a given mode.
Their function includes determining the distance at which a person must be in order for the opening sensor to operate. You can also set the speed of movement of the paintings.
Benefits of an Automatic Sliding Door
- High throughput with limited time.
- Noiselessness.
- Resistance to drafts. Cloths will not begin to swing with gusts of wind.
- The advantage over swing structures is to save space in front of the door due to the movement of paintings to the edges of the opening.
- Setting the necessary modes for a different flow of customers and different times of the year.
- A wide selection of designs.
- There are almost no restrictions on the size of the future design.
Disadvantages of an automatic type sliding door
There are two significant reasons why automatic doors are not installed:
- high price;
- the need for preventive maintenance, which also require additional costs.
But these disadvantages apply only to installation in a private room, in which it is not difficult to pull or push the door. In rooms with a large flow of visitors, such shortcomings will not become an obstacle to installation: positive properties compensate for all the shortcomings.
