Now in almost every city you can see many multi-story buildings. Often, such houses consist of hundreds, and sometimes of several hundred floors. Such buildings look quite beautiful and bewitching. But skyscrapers also conceal a great danger and complexity in the construction and use. To safely create such an amazing miracle, as well as save people in natural disasters, high-quality and durable improvised tools are required.
Carabiner DIN 5299
One of the main means is a cable or rope. Rescuers use them to save people, and builders use them to build buildings. Ropes are interconnected by carabiners. It is very important to know that the carabiner must be strong enough to hold a person or not too heavy load.
One of the best of its kind is a screw carabiner DIN 5299.
Types of carbine
There are several types of this device: a fire carbine DIN 5299C, a fire carbine with a DIN 5299D coupling, a threaded version with a coupling, an animal carabiner (key), which is used to fasten the leash to the collar, belts to bags, backpacks, and also type 125 with a swivel used for domestic purposes.
Builders and rescuers always use the first type of carbines, as they are quick-detachable. Another advantage is that they are equipped with a special latch that will not allow the carabiner to open during operation. It can be threaded or automatic.
Where and how is a DIN carabiner used?
Indeed, in the building materials market there are no analogues to this product. This is explained by the fact that a screw DIN snap hook has been serving people for many years and is reliable. It is used by almost all builders and rescuers, and especially firefighters. It is very easy to use. In a matter of minutes, a screw carabiner is able to interconnect any number of ropes or cables. You can connect as one unit, or a group of links. Both a professional and a simple amateur will be able to cope with this with just a wrench. Screw carabiner is made of high quality steel, which is processed with zinc. This type of device will never rust.
Galvanized screw carabiner can also have different parameters. Neglecting these data when choosing a carbine can lead to terrible consequences.
Dimensions and load
In size, a screw carbine can be from 4 mm to 12 mm. For each size there is a certain maximum load. For a 4 mm product, the maximum load is 90 kilograms, 6 mm is 200 kg, 8 mm is 350 kg, 10 mm is 550 kg, and a load of 750 kilograms is possible on a 12 mm carbine.
In order for the screw carabiner to be used as safely as possible, the rope or cable must be strong enough.
The main difference between a screw carbine and other similar products is that the snap on it is fixed and secured with a special nut, which is tightened with a wrench. But the nut does not just tighten in its place: it deliberately jumps from the thread to a specific place. This will not allow the carabiner to open if the thread cannot stand it. This fact once again highlights the safety and reliability of using a din screw carabiner.
GOST
Galvanized screw carabiner is a fairly small and very inconspicuous part, which plays a very large role. In order to prevent low-quality goods from entering the market, a special GOST was developed. Each seller is obliged to familiarize themselves with it before putting a carabiner screw on the window. GOST carbine consists of 8 pages. The first edition of the description of the state standard was published on January 1, 1977. Since then, many changes have been made to this document. Recent changes to the document were made on April 6, 2015. The official document number is 7041-71.
Invariable requirements
Despite the many editions of GOST, many of the basic requirements for a carbine are still unchanged. Several of them can be distinguished: βThe carbine must be manufactured strictly according to scientifically developed drawings approved in the developed orderβ; βThe design of the fire carbine shall provide high strength and reliability when using a carbine.β
Thanks to these state standards, over 30 years of using the carbine there were no cases when the operation of the product was unsafe and entailed sad consequences. For unknown reasons, in 2009, the GOST, by which the carbine was made, was suspended. And only six years later, in 2015, the document became relevant again.
Thus, a rather small and inconspicuous detail greatly simplifies the work of the fire services, as well as the builders. If you decide to build a multi-storey building, be sure to stock up on a set of DIN rifle carbines. They will be able to serve you for a long time and reliably, while taking care of your safety and comfort. About the price we can say that it is more than affordable. Absolutely everyone can buy a reliable product for the money. It is also worth recalling that when buying goods, be sure to ask the seller for a special document or passport, which indicates that the carbine has passed all the necessary tests at the designated stand. The seller must have all the documents confirming the safety of the goods being sold. Verification of documents will give you confidence in the reliability of the product.
