In early 2013, the first season of the series “Fifth Guard” was launched on TV-3. The actors involved in the project were mostly unknown to the general public, with the exception of the leading actors and two other characters.
About the series
Stories about vampires and the Prince of Darkness were popular long before the advent of film and television. They have fans today, so it is not surprising that the series “Fifth Guard” (actors and roles are described below) immediately reached the record for rating on TV-3. The producers of the project are Galina Polynskaya, Eugene Shchedrin and the well-known for the serial film “Border. Taiga novel ”by Yuri Kamenetsky, and directed by Vasily Pichul, who became famous during the perestroika years thanks to his painting“ Little Faith ”. As for the script, it was written by Galina Polynskaya, the author of short stories and stories in which fantasy and detective genres intertwine.
The painting got its name thanks to one of the ancient legends, according to which the ancient cities were guarded at night by four groups of guards, changing every three hours. However, there was a fifth. It was a secret and was called upon, among other things, to protect respectable residents from dark forces.
Plot of the film
The series "Fifth Guard", whose actors for the most part do not belong to the category of television and film stars, begins with a prologue.
Centuries ago, the loyal servant of the Prince of Darkness - the vampire Felix - went to Siberia on the advice of Dracula to treat depression with the blood of northern girls. There he falls in love with the boyar daughter of Bozena and ends up in prison for her abduction. The girl, bitten by a vampire, reciprocates, however, renounces immortality in exchange for serving the forces of darkness and dies. The inconsolable Felix returns to Dracula, but he expels him to the city of Svetloyarsk, as he believes in the prediction that a vampire will someday crush his power. The appearance of the undead brings many troubles, and the Forces of Light brick up Felix in a cave.
Five centuries pass, and two poor fellows about to rob the rich crypt in the cemetery inadvertently release him.
It turns out that now Svetloyarsk is called Svetlogorsk, but the evil in it has become no less. Felix decides to choose the path of Good and opens a detective agency, which is designed to help mortals. He accepts the same repentant sinners, ready to stand up for the Light. Together, detectives investigate the atrocities committed daily by the forces of Darkness and guard the peace of Svetlogorsk.
Vampire Character
The success of the series "Fifth Guard" (actors, photos and characterization of the characters are presented below) is associated with many with a brilliant embodiment in the image of Felix Kirill Kozakov. The actor became famous in the late 90s due to the performance of one of the main roles in the serialization of the novel by A. Dumas “The Countess de Monsoro”. In addition, he is unusually similar in appearance to his famous father - Mikhail Kozakov. In the series, the actor perfectly succeeded in playing the role of a repentant sinner, who, however, does not beat himself in the chest or wears chains, undergoing self-flagellation, but tries to use his knowledge of Darkness to fight the forces of Evil.
Fifth Guard: Celebrity Actors
As you know, the success of any television project, not least depends on the participation of stars in it. And although the actors of the series "Fifth Guard" are mostly young people, among them there are real veterans of Soviet cinema. First of all, we are talking about Regimantas Adomaitis, who appeared before the viewer in the image of Dracula. This Baltic artist was once in great demand among Soviet directors, and his Nordic appearance and aristocracy were the best suited for transforming into the Prince of Darkness.
The choice of the performer of the role of emissary of the Light Forces may seem unexpected. It was played by Stanislav Lyubshin, who became a star at a fairly young age, after working in the Soviet serial film "Shield and Sword".
Fifth Guard: actors and roles (detective agency staff)
The vampire Felix scored a great team. It included:
Medium Ulyana, whose image on the screen was embodied by Maya Voznesenskaya. Prior to participating in the project, the actress starred in several TV shows, including "Urgent" and "Closed School." In the story, the heroine of Ulyana is the sister of the deceased Bozena and, like no one, understands the sufferings of her boss Felix.
Stas, capable of creating illusions. This role went to the actor of the Moscow Art Theater Oleg Semisynov, who played her in his usual calm manner. Interestingly, at one time, the actor studied at a theological seminary. However, he does not consider it a sin to participate in a project where “all evil spirits” is actively involved.
Invisible Nikita (Egor Vadov). Thanks to his paranormal abilities, he succeeds where other heroes are forced to retreat.
Svetlana, who knows how to leave her phantom in the mirror (Polina Manokhina). Felix finds her in a psychiatric hospital, where the girl got because of her gift. We can say that this is the debut role of Polina Manokhina, and the girl, judging by the reviews, coped with her pretty well.
Former investigator Victor. The role was performed by Rostislav Bershauer, who repeatedly appeared in films devoted to investigations of complex criminal and political crimes.
Herman and Rita. These young people are brother and sister. Their images were embodied by Matvey Matveev and Irina Vinogradova. Rita has the gift to inhabit any animal that Felix awarded her, and Herman, at his request, can become the "soul" of the selected plant.
Reviews
Critics took the series rather ambiguously. Many did not like the apparent resemblance to other vampire sagas. The series The Fifth Guard, whose actors you already know, was even compared with the movie Twilight and complained that the hero of Kozakov is much older and not as attractive as Edward Cullen in the guise of Robert Pattison.
