Chita Airport is located 20 km from the Siberian city of the same name in the Trans-Baikal Territory. It was founded in 1932 as an airfield, where aircraft were maintained and refueled. In Soviet times, the airport was actively developing. However, after the collapse of the USSR, its structure underwent changes. International status was assigned only in 1993. Regular international flights began in 1995. In 2013, the airport was included in the top five most actively developing transport hubs in Russia and Europe according to ACI Europe. By 2014, the terminal for servicing domestic flights was completely reconstructed. The annual passenger turnover is more than 300 thousand people.

Chita Airport has one runway, the dimensions of which are 2.8 km and 56 m in length and width, respectively. The airfield complex is equipped with seven taxiways. The apron has a coating of cement and concrete, its dimensions along the length and width are 207.5 and 188 m, respectively, and the total area is 39 thousand m 2 . The platform is also equipped with 13 parking lots for aircraft and helicopters of various take-off masses and a fueling complex. The airfield is able to receive and send almost all known types of domestic and foreign aircraft and helicopters. The airport complex is divided into 2 terminals - for domestic and international traffic, as well as one freight. A hotel is open around the clock on the territory of the airport complex. The maximum airport capacity is up to 200 passengers per hour.

You can get to the terminal building from Chita by public transport - fixed-route taxis with numbers 14 and 12 and bus 40E. Bus 40E leaves from the Aviaexpress stop on Lenin Street, and minibuses 12 and 14 depart from Chita Train Station. On the way, public transport makes stops. Estimated travel time is 40-50 minutes. In addition, air passengers can always use taxi services or travel by personal transport.
