An essential condition of a beautiful green lawn in your garden is good lawn grass. Against weeds, different methods can be applied. But the most effective and aesthetic is to sow the plants you need instead. Lawn grass "Canada Green" or any other grass mixture require attention, time and diligence. But then all your efforts will pay off handsomely, and you can relax on a beautiful lawn in moments of leisure.
Lawn grass against weeds
First, the planning stage must certainly take place. Placement of the lawn should take into account the fact that in the future it will not present any inconvenience. It should be convenient for you to mow your green lawn with a lawn mower, so it is better if there are no trees around the lawn. Also, if your site was recently acquired by you, you must certainly lay all the necessary communications under the future grass growing place. Since if you have to lay pipes or make paths in the place where the lawn grass will already grow (it is difficult to advise the best way against weeds), then the lawn can be irreparably damaged. Think about how you will water the plants in your area. It may be necessary to install an automatic irrigation system if carrying water by hand is not easy for you. Be prepared for the fact that sowing grass and breaking the lawn (as well as flower beds) will require a lot of time. The most malicious weed is, of course, perennials. The fight against them should take place in several stages.
The first must be completed before the
grass is
planted. All your forces must be mobilized against weeds - this is the only way to maximize the decorativeness of your lawn. In the fight against them, modern herbicides can be used - they are not as toxic as similar substances of the older generation. After that, weeds will be much easier to remove. Of course, it is impossible to exclude the mechanical stage of the struggle - it will be necessary to weave the site repeatedly. It is advisable to carry out soil cultivation in several stages. After the first, you need to wait three or four weeks until a new generation of weeds appears.
And then repeat the treatment with the selected herbicide (remember the safety precautions and protective clothing when working with these substances). If the site is small, you can try to do without chemicals. Lawn grass (universal or some other mixture) should be sown in the soil no earlier than twenty days after treatment.
How to prepare the soil and choose a herbal mixture?
After the soil is dug up, cleaned of debris and treated with a cultivator, it must be fertilized. If it is loose and it has a lot of sand, then humus should be used as fertilizer. And if the soil is too dense and compacted, it needs to be made more loose. Then you need to level the soil. When choosing an herbal mixture, look for one that consists of plant seeds that grow safely in your area. The density of the grass cover and the timely emergence of seedlings depend on this.
