Beats is very well known to many thanks to its expensive and high-quality headphones, but today the article will not be about them. It will be about two Beats columns - Pill and Pill +. We will get acquainted with the characteristics of the models, the quality of their sound and compare them with each other. Let's get started!
Beats Pill Column
So, the first model that will be discussed is the usual version of the Beats Pill, which was released just in 2013 and is quite successfully sold to this day. Its appearance, which resembles a pill (which is exactly what Pill translates from English), materials, build quality and characteristics allow it to compete with similar models from other manufacturers without any problems.
Contents of delivery
The Monster Beats Pill column comes in a small matte coated cardboard box. At the top, the buyer meets a photo of the “pill” itself, and all its main features and characteristics are painted on the back.
Inside the box is a column, and in a sealed transparent blister and branded case. In addition, the user will find inside the kit a small carabiner to hook the speaker to something, a charger adapter, a USB to microUSB adapter, a two-way cable with 3.5 mm plugs for wired connection, and, of course, a set of instructions to boot . In general, the equipment can be safely called rich.
Appearance
The Beats Pill portable speaker looks interesting. Case materials - high-quality matte plastic and a metal grill with fine perforation, covering 4 speakers.
On the back of the "pill" are 2 connectors 3.5 mm, power button, Bluetooth indicator and microUSB port with backlight. At the top there are buttons to decrease and increase the volume, well, and the front side completes, where you can see the Beats logo, which is also a multi-function button and has a backlight, as well as a microphone hole.
Characteristics
Now a little about the main characteristics of the Beats Pill column. The system power is 12 watts. Ways to connect your smartphone to column 3: NFC, Bluetooth and using a two-way cable. Additionally, there is a microphone, which allows you to turn the speaker into a headset. The battery life with a full charge is about 6.5-7 hours, which is not so little.
Sound and price
Now you can move on to sound quality. The bass sounds chic - the bass is dense and rich. There are no problems with high frequencies either. The only thing that slightly spoils the overall picture is a slightly littered middle, but this is not so critical for such a small device. There is a margin in volume, and it will be enough to have a party in a small one-room apartment.
As for the price, at the moment you can buy a column from 3,500 to 11,500 thousand rubles. The spread is large, but the model is clearly worth the money. It is also worth considering that at a low price, stores can sell fakes, so be careful.
Beats Pill +
It's time to go to the second Beats column - Pill +. At first glance, it is not much different from the previous model, but this is not entirely true. There are differences, and we will tell you about them.
Equipment
The Monster Beats Pill + speaker comes in almost the same box as a regular Pill. Inside, in addition to the "pill", there is a charger, case, instructions and a USB cable. This time, a carabiner for fastening is not provided, and the quality of the cover leaves much to be desired (the previous model has everything in order).
Design
As for the appearance and design as a whole, the Beats Pill + column has not changed much compared to the first “pill”. In front is the familiar metal mesh, behind which are hidden 4 speakers - 2 low-frequency and 2 high-frequency. On the back side there is also a similar mesh, only it is diluted with a small insert made of matte plastic with a rubber plug. Under the plug itself is a USB connector (3.5 mm) and a Lighting connector for charging.
Governing bodies "moved" to the top end. Here are the volume buttons, the familiar Beats multi-function button with backlight, and the power button, next to which there is now a battery level indicator, which was so lacking in a regular Pill.
Model Features
It makes no sense to list all the characteristics of the Beats Pill + column, so we will only consider the differences from the previous model. So, perhaps the most important differences are the lack of NFC, the appearance of the Lighting connector for charging, the ability to charge a smartphone from the speaker and an enhanced battery that allows you to enjoy music for up to 12 hours. The speaker power remained at the same level - 12 watts. Otherwise, technically, everything remains the same.
Sound and price
Now about the sound. The sound has become noticeably better than the previous model, but here the problems with the middle, unfortunately, remained. High and low frequencies do not raise questions, everything is very good here, as before. The volume margin has clearly become greater, and now it is quite enough to fill the apartment with 2-3 rooms with sound.
As for the cost, at the moment you can buy a Beats Pill + column for 13-16 thousand rubles, although there are offers with an even higher and, conversely, lower price.
